The open source AMD GPU miner bounty of 9000 AEON has been paid out to Wolf0.

Here is our current donation fund balance (various small donations and mined blocks also received since the last report):

balance: 450158.232169665722, unlocked balance: 450125.527120220919

Min difficulty back to 2k at http://52.8.47.33:8080

from what i see, the bandwith is highly consumed by the front-end api (during refresh) but not by low diff.
Code:
[api] Broadcasting to 466 visitors and 2 address lookups
sound like the api is very talkative! so the refresh rate of the front-end is kept at 30s.

The actual lastest binary on the repo (0.2 Release; 7 Nov) is used successfully by windows users. No need to test it further.

the latest amelioration from xmr miner (Substantial speedup; reaches the next milestone!; 23 dec) is not present in aeon miner on wolf's repo. so no test can be done.
i can try to update my repo for testing if aeon miner is speeding up like xmr miner but it's better if wolf update its own. (this part seems not correlated to the bounty)

Thank you for the report Arux.

Agreed the terms of the bounty did not require updating to later optimized versions. Another community member can do it or Wolf0 can do it if he wants to continue to remain involved.

I am glad to hear that development is coming along nicely. Based on recent Bittrex data, interest in the coin seems to be growing.

I just asked Shapeshift to support boolberry and aeon. Let them know if you agree it is a good idea.

When you are ready to request a Aeon listing on Poloniex I think most of the Boolberry community will support it. Liquidity should improve from having more CryptoNote trading pairs available.  I would like to see more trading volume on Poloniex from the XMR (instead of BTC) trading pairs.

Dev i have one question about the roadmap exactly what are the advantages of the Blockchain pruning?
it is not like a electrum server?

The main advantage is reducing the storage required to run nodes over time. As the blockchain grows (every day 360 more blocks) that all needs to be stored by every node. With the pruning branch most of the old information does not need to be stored, making nodes more lightweight.

There may be other advantages for thin wallets similar to Electrum later but that is not really helped by the current implementation.

Mining a little AEON on Freya for now - one 290X is doing over 1750H/s... oddly, it's the Elpida one. I don't get it.

Have you pushed a miner that works reliably (at one point I understood that it crashed/hung after a while, but maybe not)?

I was waiting for that to pay the bounty, but it's still waiting.

I've been doing main development on the XMR miner, but I'd need someone to test it for a few days to be sure.

Please post a link to the current AEON version and we'll have someone here test it.

It's on git, unless you mean you need a Win binary?

No, I just mean the link to the git repo (repost)

EDIT: Is this the one? Doesn't look updated. https://github.com/wolf9466/wolf-aeon-miner/commits/master

Yeah; the last long test was done before commit 149debbd15d094051084816f04c6a32eeaab9062.

Oh, okay. I had no idea.

Arux, or anyone, please try testing the latest from this repo.

@ Smooth

What standalone cpu miner would you recommend for the PI2? Id like to try it for the hell of it.

This one MAY work. I'm not sure if it is 100% portable code.

Wasnt some people using the PI s for Monero nodes?

Yes that is possible once there is a database implementation to store the blockchain out of memory. AEON doesn't have that yet. Even with pruning a rpi2 is close but still a bit too small.

Ive been using wolfs miner for weeks. Ive had mo issues with it after he fixed the timing out and stale share issues. I dont know if he now has a more improved miner now or not. Would love it if he does.

On another subject i have some Raspberry PI 2's lying around and would like to set them up running Aeon nodes. Is this possible? Mining on them possible yet or ever will be? Would be nice to use them for Aeon! I have my other two computers running aeon too want to get everything i can supporting one way or another. Any help would be great!

You can probably mine on them (slowly!) using a standalone cpu miner (not Wolfs which is optimized for intel), but running a node is not possible yet due to the memory requirement. It should be possible in the future.
