got poolmining working at aeon.extremepool.org with my core i7, 6 core, aes-ni enabled machine. Gives me 200 hs/s with six threads and wolf cpu miner, 15 aeon in ~20 hour.

I have also a corei5 (four core), non-aes-ni machine, and I though I point it to the same pool. Used four threads on this one, and used wolf miner, compiled for non-aes-ni. However, this gives me nothing in five hours mining, although it looks like it is working. (Detects blocks, adjust pool diff etc) but I have not seen a single "accepted ... yay!!!). Why could this be? of course the machine is slow and old, but I though it should give me about 1/3 of what my corei7 gives (the i5 is clocked @ 3.8 ghz). Is it just to old to give anything useful, or why cold this be?

Another question to those of you who are experienced. Do Wolfs Minerd benefit from hyperthreading crytponight algo? My guess is not, but I thought I'd ask....

Thanks

Don't use wolf's miner on non-aes machine. Get the one recommended by pool.

Which miner is the best for non-aesni? Can not find any recomendations on pool.

Can you check C:\Users\your_user_name\appdata\Roaming\aeon directory? Is it created? Does it contain any files?
Do you have any application running that may prevent writing to this location?

Use --data-dir option to point aeond to some other disk/folder to verify it's not restriction for default location that prevents it from loading blockchain.

You're right, it doesn't create a folder there. There are no applications that I can think of that would block that and I also have many other wallets there, including cryptonote wallets.

The --data-dir command also doesn't create a folder elsewhere. The program gets stuck at the same point (Can't load blockchain storage from file...)

aeon.graymines.net - come join, we have 1/4 - 1/3 of hashrate already, I watch pool every few hours, there are no problems with payouts.

I guess we need some final push to get on Polio.

How about making 100 votes today? I already voted but if you didn't go to
https://poloniex.com/voting and press that button.

We need a bigger exchange to get the ball rolling.

Hi extremepool OP, why mining fee up to 2% + 0.1%?. I think 1% fee like another pool is normal, it's very hard to mine ACN. Pls down the mining fee.

Hope someone can help me, tried to mine CryptoNight pools today for the first time. I did

minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://aeon.extremepool.org:5555 -u address -p x

and got the reply> unsupported protocol ..... , some json error,  code -1.

I tried some other pools with the same result, so it is of course me and not the pools who have something wrong. Please help, this is probably really trivial. On the same machine solomining with simplewallet works fine.

Thanks

/
which miner do you use . use this
https://ottrbutt.com/cpuminer-multi/cpuminer-multi-wolf-06-09-2014.zip

minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://aeon.extremepool.org:5555 -u address -p x -t 2

your can change the 2 for many cpu you have. i hope this can help you  its  64 bit only

Thanks for the reply. Still have problem though.

I did

minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://aeon.extremepool.org/:5555 -u MyWalletAddress -p x -t6

Still get:

[2014-07-07 13:00:35] Using JSON-RPC 2.0
[2014-07-07 13:00:35] Starting Stratum on stratum+tcp://aeon.extremepool.org/:5555
[2014-07-07 13:00:35] 6 miner threads started, using 'cryptonight' algorithm.
[2014-07-07 13:00:36] JSON decode failed(1): '[' or '{' expected near 'HTTP'
[2014-07-07 13:00:36] JSON decode failed(1): '[' or '{' expected near 'HTTP'
[2014-07-07 13:00:36] ...retry after 10 seconds

Miner is "cpuminer-multi-wolf-06-09-2014, 64 bit AES_ NI enabled (Win x64)". The command line

minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://pool.minexmr.com:3333 -u MyWalletAddress -p x -t6

works fine with XMR, same miner exe. Any clues?

Thanks

/

your problem is you have a "/" after .org

it should be stratum+tcp://aeon.extremepool.org:5555

Does someone else have problems with the Aeon (aeond)? Every other cryptonote coin I run works fine but not aeond.

It would be great to know more about the problems you're having.
Can you share more information?

"9 out of 10" times it stops at this point:

"Can't load blockchain storage from file, generating from genesis block"

And then there's problem number 2:

I just can't close aeond (not responding), and even after i force close it it's still showing/running/open.

I works only every now and then after I restart the computer and I think I should not be running anything else (like MinerGate) for it to work. It almost never gets to the "yellow text", downloading the blockchain. But like I said, there some other problem with not being able to close the program itself.

And yes I know there's an option of downloading the blockchain, but there seems to be some other fundamental problem here. (every other daemon from other cyptonote coins works fine)

What OS is that?
Could firewall be blocking aeond from reaching the seednode or communication with peers? Can you ping seed.aeoncoin.net?

Is this happening with version that was released today?

Win 7 x64

Pinging works fine

It happens with older versions and 1.4

Remove blockchain from profile and try running aeond as admin.
