I believe that article is referring to AION the token and not AEON the coin (us).

In other news, has anyone else had problems staying connected to aeon-pool.com in the past couple of days? We keep getting Error Socket Closed messages and haven't been able to mine on the majority of our CPUs.

Sure, just copy the files from C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\aeon at your old computer to your new computer.

You're entitled to your opinion but the way I see it the code is less broken than it has ever been (many important bugs have been fixed, and nodes are very reliable, despite some annoying noise messages).

No, this is your daemon correctly rejecting a wrong chain. You don't need to restart the sync.

Looks that for aeon mining is not that bad... while in general buying is a much simpler (and probably rewarding) option...

Aeon does not have Proof of Stake, and I'm not aware of any working Cryptonote coin that has it.

Incidentally though, there was a PoS Cryptonote project called Louis d'or. While there's no release in sight, the PoW hash used by Aeon was originally developed in that project.
