is it worth mining UTC on an Intel Xeon W3520 @ 2.67GHz x 8 cores or NVIDIA Quadro FX 380?
I'm only getting 5khash total on the Xeon with 6 cores. Is that normal?

Yeah, I've stopped mining UTC using every card I have now. Only some are mining UTC.
I need to mine some others (or middlecoin etc) to be able to pay off my electricity.
I just can't make myself sell UTC that I've mined or bought. So had to compromise.
still profitable to mine, but you just need to wait for another spike and sell some then. the coin will help you more than mining other coins. it's easy for utc to triple at these prices.

I'm getting lots of HW errors at -I 12 -thread 8192 on 280x 
use tc 16384
Ok thanks that seems to work.
-I 12 -thread 16384 engine 1100 mem 1500
But right now it is slower from 150kH/s to 130 (elpida) 144 (hynix) kH/s.
Any optimization needed?

knew i shoulda sold at .0004 could have doubled my utc when i rebought. grr.
Too risky of a move if you ask me, the majority of the UTC I bought was at 0.0004 and I'm perfectly fine with that.. when UTC finally takes off it wont fall back this low ever... with the steady influx of new people into the UTC community and a UTC marketplace starting to emerge its only a matter of time.. I am very confident with this investment...

I personally was looking into buying LTC last year when it was around $1.80 because I thought it was going to be a good investment, but didn't end up doing it due to a lack of funds and the level of uncertainty... then LTC hit almost $50 in December and I told myself I'm not making the same mistake twice. Exactly. I am perfectly fine with holding for years. As long as we keep building the community, continue marketing and developing the coin the price will follow suit.
Lots of good stuff happening here, I'm just going to keep collecting coins when I have extra fiat.
