I wrote to CRYPTSY and they answered me this

We will take a look at the coin and consider it for addition. In the meantime, I would recommend letting others know about the coin on our form to help spread the word

what I see is we have to push harder they're going to add soon lets do Ultracoiners

So the most effective thing for our purpose is to tweet to @cryptsy directly, not to retweet somebody that tweeted cryptsy Wink

In the short-term, probably yes. What we want is big vern to see the posts, but we also want to encourage others to tweet him about UTC, and others to retweet our posts. So you want to make sure your post "hits all the buttons".

When I post to @cryptsy, I also include hashtags. Hashtags are used for people to search for things. So I'll create a post like this:

@cryptsy Please add #UTC - huge volumes, great community, coin with value! @ultracoinnews #bitcoin #mintpal #litecoin

This tweet will be seen by cryptsy, and anyone that searches for utc, bitcoin, mintpal, etc. I've reached many more people than if I just sent it to cryptsy.

Another thing I do is search for other people that are tweeting to cryptsy and retweet their tweets (even for other coins). If you do this, those people will often follow you, then they'll see your future tweets.

Can we perhaps get a letter drafted on here that I can send to Joe Manchin?  Not that he would actually read a letter from one of his constituents himself, but a staffer might mention it to him.  One specifically mentioning Ultracoin and crypto's benefits?

Guys I've said it before, it cost money to get listed on cryptsy. Whoever wasted their bitcoins for mintpal wasted them for a shit exchange. Should have pooled money for craptsy instead

The fast transaction speed is something we can use to "sell" UTC. Could we / I / us approach online stores to accept Ultracoin? Do we have a merchant interface to do this?

  • Purchase music online, approach Grooveshark, Sirius, Napster, Deezer, etc.
  • Purchase eCards online, approach Moonpig, Doozycards, etc
  • Purchase or use directly for online slot machines, not sure of companies in this space
  • Build a mobile client or one based on HTML5

About Twitter -  tweets and retweets do two different things (both good). A tweet to cryptsy will be seen by them, and everyone that follows them. A retweet will be seen by people that follow you.

There are a lot of other effective ways to use twitter, let me know if anyone wants more info.

Ok well I've been wondering about this to decide which approach to take.  So in that case, if you do have any further useful information to give I'd be happy to receive it.

Thanks

In the meanwhile, keep VOTING and responding in the Cryptsy thread!
https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/75770

Also tweet @cryptsy for UTC implementation!

I've done a few tweets and got a few friends to do some as well yesterday.  I'd say we collectively put about 100 tweets out there.  Will hit em with a couple hundred more today and do a bunch of retweets too.

...stupid question though, I'm fairly new to twitter and wanted to know if a tweet to @cryptsy will be just as effective as a retweet of someone's post?  Thanks

Is there anyone that can get UTC some media attention? Articles in news papers, news sites,... would be very nice.

Is this just another 'someone else do this, but i don't want to' suggestion or are you volunteering to do a press release to send out to the media to help the community?

I have 0 contacts in the media section... Otherwise I would've contacted them a month ago Smiley

Pointing ALL my hash power at UTC right now, only getting 70-75KH/s per 280x, but they are also pulling a LOT less power than normal scrypt and it's helping out the cause, still not sold any of my mined coins, hoarding them all up Smiley

about 85kh/s on my 7970 @ 1250/1850 clock speeds.

You should be getting at least 110 KH/s with each 280x/7970. (Over 130KH/s if you have 8GB of RAM or more)
http://www.reddit.com/r/official_utc/comments/1z93t9/cgminer_configs_for_new_nfactor/

Still can't get above 75, even with those settings

Well Joe Manchin is one of my state senators.  Perhaps some negative media attention would be better than none?

i've said it once, i'll say it 1000 times. no coin will succeed long term if the coins don't have a purpose.

I thought that a lot last year with the alt craze in 1st quarter.  However, all of them are still here;  more or less successful.  Even the less successful one's difficulty gets low enough and they are profitable;  and get mined.  Thus, they survive.

There are literally 100's of coins now, with no real purpose;  save for one "cash money value".   I'm not big on money / greedy, but I cannot deny this is the driving factor in the commodity that is "crypto".

If we were to reduce / hypothesize that only coins with purpose succeed, then we probably would only have 4 or 5 coins at most.

I do not intend, in any way, to dissuade from finding purpose and "marketing points" for UTC;  however I cannot easily entertain,  that it's what makes / breaks the coin.  Not at all saying that purpose has no value, just that it's not the deciding factor.

Having said that, the "selling points' for UTC;

-Fast transactions
-Lower total coin numbers than many
-Highly resistant to coordinated attacks (51%)
-Community oriented
-Asic Resistant
-Long-term reward with stake / interest
-Semi-rapid block reward halving to increase rarity (10months appx)
-Less heat production from mining
-Energy conservation - less power running equipment
-Encourages larger smaller decentralized mining versus large centralized mining (i.e-BTC)

Many of those points are all "talking points" with most crypto's and are beneficial for UTC to have.   Even the less obvious, Heat and energy savings.  Power required to produce coins, was a point of issue with regulators in the recent Crypto meeting in NY.   It is very possible that, as regulation rolls on;  there will be more focus on the energy required.  UTC stands in a good spot there versus;  sha, scrypt and even nscrypt.

Then we need to make it one. Wtf ...it seems everyone love charity... Aurora about helping Penguins or who is living there in iceland...we can say that 0.1% of every transaction that involve UTC will be taxed as a help for SOMALIA or whatever. and will be automaticaly Deoosited in a Wallet that eveyone can access by blockchain and see its status.
And once per year that UTC will be exchanged  while the Press make pictures with "bumface" shaking hands and holding a big check. ta-tam ...

Ultracoin added to the requestlist

https://www.coinpayments.net/coinreq

this could be a big step towards webshop payment integration

This got a bit buried yesterday but if listed would give the coin a bit more exposure. Anyone know how we can get this pushed up the list?

About Auroracoin (which I'm trading too, might as well while it's profitable) - I think its success is both a product of media exposure and the perception that it actually has a purpose. That's what we need to work on with UTC.

It's hard to watch the UTC price go down, but it isn't surprising. We've done at most one day of promotion of the coin. That needs to be sustained over time. We need to continue the FB campaign, continue tweeting, continue posting, continue development efforts, etc.

One thing I find really interesting - dogecoin's price is down right now. But if you go to the dogecoin reddit page, few people are talking about the price. Everyone is talking about what they are doing to drive doge's acceptance. That is diametrically different from what we all talk about.

I am also interested in hearing about Bumface's dealings with Cryptsy. If there is something else we should be doing, he needs to tell us. If we're wasting our time, he needs to tell us that too.

Hmmm ....if i ask this same question to Bumface he don't answer me or he delete my post.

I am very curious if he now will answer to you, a respected community member who does a lot for the interest of the coin.... I am very curious DCGirl because all the people here like to know after one month …..
