So if we use a pool we don't even need to use the ultracoin miner? could we just use cgminer instead?

No, you need the UTC miner either way.  Just depends on if you are mining from your wallet (solo) or pool

to start a wallet is not nessecary or you might be solo mining ofc

I don't get it, what do we use for
rpcuser=youruser
rpcpassword=yourpassword

I can't find the wallet anywhere so I don't have an address to put into username

in the ultracoin.conf, you simply make up a name and password  say   rpcuser=michaela_elise  rpcpassword=x
in solominer.bat you put

ultracoinminer -o 127.0.0.1:44101 -u michaela_elise -p x --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 --thread-
concurrency 8192 --auto-gpu true --auto-fan true

p.s. if anyone wants to use that scrypt, I will give you my ip to fill in above in place of the 127.0.0.1 Tongue

do i need to replace 127.0.0.1 into my own ip address? or juts use 127.0.0.1?  thanks !

No, 127.0.0.1 is your IP address, it is localhost.  The way it works is that your wallet connect to the network and downloads blockchain data.  Your miner is mining that data on your local machine.

I believe this is similar to how pools work, they just have a fancy web interface to interact with.

In my previous post, I was joking that someone could mine on my wallet, help me get some coins ya know Tongue

So does your wallet have to be open when you're mining?

Yes! If you are solo-mining.

haha thanks!

Any chance of getting the official pool up, so we can register accounts/workers? Otherwise it's gonna be DDOS'ed at launch.

That and or some update!
