anyone knows whats the current market cap?

373534490 coins currently, from
http://bit.usr.sh:2750/chain/ASICcoin

About 0.00007199 ASC/LTC
https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/111

About 23.46 USD/LTC
http://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/btce/ltcusd

So,
373534490 ASC * 0.00007199 ASC/LTC * 23.46 USD/LTC = 630,856.946557446 USD

Room to grow if you compare to other coins,
http://coinmarketcap.com/

Just broke a million (again)

375300237 ASC * 0.00012250 ASC/LTC * 23.5798 USD/LTC = 1,084,064.30473 USD

Oh, and just noticed ASC is now listed here: http://coinmarketcap.com/ CheesyCheesy

ASC is on fire at Cryptsy. #1 percentage gain of all the coins on Coinmarketcap.com
It's the new NETcoin... Junkcoin... infinite coin combined. Could go up like those did.
I think they went up like 10x.

People lovin' tradin' it.

Just saw everyone eat through a 250 LTC sell wall like nothing in minutes.

I think that now is a good time to again remind us all that use of the term "market cap" (as in "market capitalization", or capitalized value of the market) is inappropriate for coins. The term implies that, in the above example, 1,084,064 USD of value exists in that coin, or that this sum of money has flowed into the coin. This thinking is inherently flawed. Quite simply, this is that value of all coins if everyone were able to sell their coins at the current market rate. This assumes that the value would not fall during such a sell off. Sites like coinmarketcap.com simply take the going rate for the coin and multiply it by the total in circulation. I think it is important that people understand this - ~9 billion USD (or equivalent) has not flowed into Bitcoin per se, only a fraction thereof.

I agree, and remind people of this.  What is remarkable about ASC right now is that of its 1,000,000 USD "market cap", it had $100,000 in trade volume.  So you could have at least sold 10% of the market cap.  Amazing.

Market caps have always the same problem, doesn't matter which financial instrument you are talking about.

Cheers tcnitsid!  Prob it would grow more if it would be published on the coinmarketcap and coinwarz also

I am a web developer, I guess I could make a dedicated chart for ASC on its own domain.  Any interest?

why did ASC get taken down from coinwarz?

i have a few of these and would be interested in following their progress

coinex.pw went down for a while and they stopped tracking that exchange.  They didn't bother to list the exchange rate from Cryptsy, probably since its against LTC and XPM (not an easily comparable BTC rate).  However, there is much more volume of ASC/LTC on cryptsy than ASC/BTC on coinex.pw.
volumes on coinex.pw will be higher if they show us stability for traders. coinex bring ASC earlier then cryptsy, ASC/BTC pair is easier to understand for miners )

Agreed, shutting down for days at a time without notice is not good.

Hopefully Cryptsy will trade USD soon, then you can trade ASC for USD in one exchange.
