I will say if I am struggling A lot of people would have given up by now surely this is not good for the coins growth

You could always mine in a pool and store your mined coins there until you want to transfer them elsewhere ( http://asc.ispace.co.uk )

bit of a joke really
With all this grief I may offer an alternate build with the additional nodes pre-packed

PLEASE As I do want to continue mining this coin But want to sort the wallet first

Yes, I hate how recent versions of Windows dumbdown the OS by hiding extensions. It's the first thing I turn back on. You do have to know how to work with files to do this stuff (at this point in time anyways). Best to search for entire threads, FAQs about how to solo, etc.

bit of a joke really

Personally, I have preferred cryptsy as coinex has a habit of going offline for a few days when they get overwhelmed.

I'm not sure where your trouble is in setting up the wallet, I have mine running on a couple of machines.  I did have to update the conf file, I guess that can be a bit technical.  You do need to be sure the file is a .conf file and not a .txt file.  If you have known file extensions hidden, it is possible you have the file as a .conf.txt.  Are you sure its in the right location as well?

Once the conf file is setup, it can take some time for the wallet to sync with the network (not sure just how long, but its not instant)

With all this grief I may offer an alternate build with the additional nodes pre-packed

Give him a mask and he will tell you the truth.
Read pages 18-21 for config directions. blista also has a link for a direct file you can dl. or just skip a wallet n use a mining pool for your wallet or coinex to trade directly.

Change these lines to something you can remember for all coins in the future:

like:

rpcuser=duckfart
rpcpassword=hunter

the user and pw then have to match in your solo mining string

If you are merely using the wallet, just leave those lines out and encrypt the
wallet thru the qt program.

I still need the client, the website for this coin is horrible. No one has the
zipfile in their dropbox??

Make a file called "asiccoin.conf" in the directory under appdata/roaming and copy/paste the addnode
statements into it. Restart the client.

tried that.. didn't seem to work. do I make a folder/text doc or what? also, the appdata folder is just a general folder within c:? or should I be making this "file" in the asicoin folder? thanks again

New textfile and rename including the extension. Put in the asicoin folder under documents and settings.
