It doesn't make sense to put your capital at risk merely to break even.

Nor does it make sense to sell geese that lay golden eggs.  Yet that's exactly what people foolishly expect the hardware providers to do.  If they're smart enough to design this stuff, then they could sure as hell set up a farm of their own...in their sleep!  And then just sell off the pieces as they become less profitable/efficient to mine with, always replacing them with nextgen supplies.  So why wouldn't they?  Why do people expect them to split their profits with us?

Miners should hold their coins through at least two of the 4-year reductions in payout.  In 8 years, each block will only yield 1/4th of what it does today.  All of this hardware is being produced to mine a dwindling supply of coins.  Half of all possible bitcoins were already 'mined' at the beginning of 2013.  And 3/4ths of all possible Bitcoins will already be mined in Jan 2017.  Which brings us to another point...

There are an infinite # of SHA256 coins that can be 'invented'.  Any cost/benefit analysis of these mining products must take that into consideration.  Hell....release your own sha256 coin!  Put some money behind it.  Advertise it.  Establish floors for its price.  Put a little effort into it, and this very same miner could yield you well over a million dollars profit.

People seem to have it in their minds that bitcoins can rise in price forever.  Even patents don't last forever, and there's no patent!!  As bitcoin rises in value, more and more incentive goes to the competition -- as with any product.

I noticed that Germany was not among your list of destination countries on the website, when I checked earlier today. Do you ship to Germany?

Can confirm hashrate:

intron

Is this the estimated hashrate of accepted shares or the raw hashrate of the chips?
I know bfgminer and bfgminer is printing 3 hashrates for every mining device:
- the first one (I don't know what it stands for, maybe it is an averaged hashrate)
- the second is the "raw" hashrate of the miner
- the third is the hashrate estimated by the number of accepted shares

To which category belongs your posted hashrate?

Thanks for clarifying that!

This was the hashrate as reported by BTC Guild after hashing
for some time with one of the first bi•furys.

Hope this helps,
intron

That's a screenshot of the pool (BTC Guild), so it's the rate of accepted shares.

Hi.

Is the hash rate of 5+GH/s guaranteed? Because we have seen that the Bitfury chips have a wide hash rate range. Means that you can get some chips which are only hashing at 1.8 GH/s and others are hashing at 2.7 GH/s. This is why I'm asking.

Are you running the chips with an increased supply voltage (>0.85V) to squeeze everything out of them?
And are they getting hot? The heatsink seems to be rather small for this "beast" ;-).

Cheers,
Andreas

Yes hash rate will be guaranteed, for now we only have problem with lower hashrate or death chips on devices with more chips(>16) and much of them was assembly or board problems, not chip itself.

We run it on USB 3.0 with it normal spec to squeeze 5+ Gh from them Smiley

Like you see on debug miner screen, with really weak air cooling temp are in about 57 C degree.
Without any air cooling you must easily add 20+ C degree.

Device designer also confirm hashrate.

Devices are in way to devs, when only support will be ready I will post more screens.
I will also ask devs to post some independent screen.

Looks good.  But we need to see hash rates of actual units we will be potentially buying.  We were misled from preproduction results in the BF/RF buy.
