Good luck! I'm also still having problems, i'm not new to this either, i've done the config file many times on different wallets.
Mine is now connecting about 3 times a day for about 10 minutes a time, the problem is with your nodes.... Please get some good ones.

This is very strange, mine looks like it wants to connect because the computer icon flashes sometimes, but its still not connecting, I've checked my antivirus and firewalls, I'm stuck on this one now!
Could it be because i'm in Europe?

Did you restart your wallet or improperly save the conf file?

yes its all saved as a BitBean.conf and deleted peers.dat file and restarted, it has worked, but only about 3 times a day for about 10 minutes, i've even has 3 stakes today!! but most of the time it has no connections and is out of sync.......
Did you save as "all files" instead of .txt?

I'm not sure why you would be able to connect and then suddenly drop from the network.
try getting peerinfo next time it connects
