Hooray for non-equilibrium thermodynamics!
Hi Punin, there are no chip orders on the site now, will this be coming back soon?

Hi punin,

Is it possible to get a detailed Layout or drawing for mounting hole alignment and card placement reasons?
Need to know how much i have to change in my case design.

Whats the dimensions of the hashing board and the master board?
Does the master board connect to the RasPi using usb or gpio?
Does the pi run cgminer or some custom miner software?
Master board is 80x368 mm. Hashing board is 110x139 mm. It's connected using SPI (on the GPIO connector). I don't know about the software.

Bitfury used to say he doesn't like cgminer for this purposes. He prefers to write custom software.

Hmm, that could be a problem for some of us. What about support? Relying on a custom piece of software that (many of us) will have no clue how to fix when it goes wrong is not a good thing. At least with cgminer or bfgminer there is some limited community support. Also if ckolivas and the cgminer team get their own starter kit they would be able to develop and optimize the software for the hardware. Would it not be better to focus purely on hardware and let someone (like ckolivas and other miner developers) else work on the software (essentially for a free dev board)?

Hey allinvain,

Did you get any additional feedback on how the software will work or be updated? (i.e. if we want to change mining pool later on or set up multiple pools for redundancy, etc, etc). I haven't been able to find any good answers on this.

I do know ckolivas has done a great job supporting multiple hardware with cgminer, which seems to be robust/mature enough to support many options so your comment makes a lot of sense to me. Not sure about bfgminer though.

It'd be great if anyone could please clarify.

Thanks

Copy pasta with a side of translation from the finnish bitcoin forums:

Odottelen yhä H-Boardeja tehtaalta, niin käytin ajan hyväksi ja korjautin M-boardin.
Still waiting for H-Boards from the factory, making good use of the time and fixed the M-board.

Nyt on uusi M-board valmis tuotantoon!
The new M-board is now ready for production!

Uutta: 3kpl 3-pin Molex tuuletinliitännät, 2kpl Molex Mini-fit Jr PCIe liitännät
New: 3x 3-pin Molex fan connectors, 2x Molex Mini-fit Jr PCIe connectors

Thank's Isokivi!

I want to thank Intron and Tytus for providing us with this updated board. This M-board will be produced in Finland and is in production, so I think it will arrive in time to make it into august shippings. There's also 4 card banks now that should give us better overhead on SPI communication an thus enable faster and more reliable operation. Best performance will be achieved by installing filling 1st slot of each bank, then 2nd etc.

Wht hapened with the price of H board? 450 euros is too much. Add to that 19 % vat, thats 550 euros, or 720 $!

Can we order h boardds from us reseller?
The VAT in Finland is apparently 24% and that is what you will have to pay on top of 450 €, that is unless you are registered as VAT payer with your local tax office.

Yes Any updates? Where are the chips? are still at the TSMC Fab? When did they send for production? When was their tape out?

Quick update:

- H & M Boards are in production (assembly)
- Shipping company arrangements have been made. They offer quick shipping for extra cost. I'll try to add this shipping upgrade option on site somehow.
- Got some test boards for testing the chain set-up:

EDIT: Just to clarify – this chaining is a new feature that will help us build more competitive products, this has nothing to do with current board functionality.

thx punin, for finally taking the time here!

So just 1 question from me regarding August orders, will they be delayed or are we still in time with august deliverys?

We are still on track to deliver in august, but it's gonna be a push.

If you ordered bare chips, without board, assembly etc. please state order number.

Anyone received the bitfury chips they order??
Did you order chips? What is your order #?

1 US-Dollar = 0,75 Euro

Full Miner & new priced Hashingboards falling a part ... in comparision to the US Reseller

Hmm, yes doesn't look good. Don't forget the VAT too. Many in the eu will need to pay this, but most in the US will not have to pay sales tax. Makes a full miner more than $12k here compared to $8k Cry.

Yeah what's with the price difference? 400Ghash October delivery is almost 1500€ more expensive than for the US customers. Yet for the 400Ghash August delivery the difference is ~500EUR. These are without VAT.
