Are bittrex admins in jail yet?  Are they being sued yet?  Has anything been done about them just randomly deciding to lock a bunch of peoples' money from them?  I'm guessing no.

Don't give this scam exchange your money if you're new and reading this, there are far better exchanges to use.  Find them.

Maybe you have some personal bad experiences from them but I really don't understand where're you getting this. Would you mind to give out some information/proof regarding your claim? Or is this related to the issue with people being locked out of their exchange and can't come back due to their long verification process?

If I remember it correctly, I got verified in their exchange within 2 days by just submitting the necessary documents needed. Never had any problem with them (deposit/withdrawals) and I'm still using this exchange up to now.

There have been literally thousands of complaints of bittrex locking accounts for the last 9-12 months. I see two basic types:

1- people from 'banned' countries like Cuba, Iran, Syria
2- legacy account holders from before the KYC era

In both cases many thousands of users were using bittrex for a long time without problems, and bittrex was gladly letting them, and collecting fees. Then WITHOUT WARNING, these users had their accounts locked without any grace period to withdraw their funds.

Bittrex could have announced their change in policy and let people withdraw before the new terms of service were introduced, but they chose to freeze accounts without warning. We can speculate why, maybe they plan to keep these users funds, maybe they were presurred by someone to do this ... who knows, but the facts are clear for all to see.

In my case I am in category 2- above, and I have +20k USD frozen unless I upload KYC data to these people, even though the original terms of service never required this when I first opened my account.

Eventually the operators of Bittrex will pay for what they have done, Karma always catches up.

We have concluded a compliance review of your account and regret to tell you that your account must remain suspended. Federal economic sanctions law prohibits U.S. companies from engaging in economic transactions with the residents of certain countries, including Iran, Syria, Cuba, and the Crimean Region. Our Terms of Service, which users agree to when they sign up, prohibits such individuals from signing up for our service.

We have concluded that you are a resident of one of the four above-listed countries. Under federal law, this account must remain suspended, pending direction from the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control as to the appropriate action to be taken.

If you believe that we erroneously concluded that you are a resident of one of these countries, please reply to this ticket and let us know. Otherwise, we will keep you apprised of developments as we receive instructions from the U.S. Government.

These bittrex thieves/scammers even cant lie
they accepted deposits from those countries then suspended their accounts
Before registration many users asked support, whether it is possible to create an account to people from the sanctions countries, and the answer was YES. There is evidence and a letter from the man chief of  support team!

If there is someone from Bittrex on this topic I would like to ask will exchange support upcoming Ethereum Classic (ETC) - Callisto fork.

I know that a lot of people have been asking about this on ETC thread and didn't get any answer so what better place to ask this than on Bittrex thread.

2) The majority of exchanges (and i think bittrex too) don't do service of staking coins for the users, all staking income, are kept by the exchange,

that is exactly what i'm asking for ..
well you mean that bittrex collect the income of DPOS and POS of our coins and they takes for them selve ?

I dont know about all of them but I'm a holder of some Proof of stake coins since 2014 and the exchanges have never taken part in staking or transaction confirmation that is the purpose to holding a live wallet and being part of the network.

Exchanges are famous for being attacked and compromised and the basic security most take is not to leave assets open in a single hot wallet.    I dont believe any take part in cold storage staking if that were possible.
You can tell Bittrex is not secretly staking because they form such a large percentage owner of many coins.    Their absence raises the rate of return for all the small holders.    What might be 2% return turns into over 5% because so many coins are left trading on exchanges not really in control of the owners.
Bittrex has a giants footsteps, if they made moves to do anything in secret we can tell because it shows up on most coins transactions.

You definetly should be holding any POS coin because they need you to provide security, distribution and help confirm transactions.   You are basically enlisted as a simple miner, its what makes these coins so cheap to use and adds network value.   Bitcoin has the big problem of a piper it must pay constantly to hash transactions, a few big commentators have noted its an increasing drag on its efficiency and ongoing operations.  Ripple thinks they will take over now partly due to this reasoning, I hope not so please do Stake.

ETH may switch to POS later this year, fairly massive news as I rate ETH a contender to the throne and that switch (to lower fees) might even do it

Probably they take income from PoS, not for Dpos, because the wallet need to vote for the delegates to receive a reward (if delegates voted, give some lisk back, and not all delegate do that) i don't think that bittrex take time to vote for delegates with the lisk wallet of the exchange.....

But yes for PoS coins for sure they take the earnings for themself... all exchanges do that, that's why pos coin imho have to stay on exchange only for the strict time needed to do operations, and then reverted back to personal wallet to have the pos stakes credited.

And in general, all coins (pos pow or whatever) that are not involved in trading, is a good rule, not to keep on exchanges, where you don't own the private key, as if the exchange have a problem, you are at risk of loosing your money, because without a private key in hand, you don't have control over that coins, you are trusting a third party in managing the security of keeping safe your money.

hi

does Bittrex collects stakes on LISK coin ?

Lisk is not a PoS coin, it don't stake, you need to transfer from exchange to you personal wallet, and then vote for delegates, that give a % of DPoS coins, that they earn, back to voters.

Ok..  thank you so much for your reply .. i really appreciate it

1

but i mean does bittrex do that with my and our coins .. i mean does bittrex "transfer our coins from exchange to a personal wallet, and then vote for delegates, that give a % of DPoS coins, that they earn, back to voters."

2

Plz what about the POS coins does Bittrex collects stakes from ?

** and i really dont asking like that to claim those stakes but i'm asking for another important reason

1) No exchanges will do that for you you have to download the lisk nano wallet, install on you computer generate a passpharase (that is your private key) then with this wallet configured, you have an address where to transfer your coins outside of the exchange, and then with the wallet itself you can vote for delegates. This is the official bitcointalk thread about lisk https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1346646.0;topicseen you can find further infos there, or ask in that thread, for what you don't know.

2) The majority of exchanges (and i think bittrex too) don't do service of staking coins for the users, all staking income, are kept by the exchange, so is not good to leave staking coins on exchanges, if not for trading. There are some services that acts like a pool for staking coins, but i don't know if are trusted, only site that i know and use, that have an exchange and give staking profits to holders with coins on site is btcpop.co.
