Proof of stake is done via the wallet, very simple. You send your coins from the exchange or whoever you buy from and then once in your wallet and cleared after a while it will stake. Just needs to be upto date with the whole blockchain, just a small amount will take a long time to register but it'll show eventually.
I dont think theres any minimum holding to stake ? It just registers more often for the larger amounts. You dont need a fancy graphics card, or ASIC. Basic CPU and memory will do, wouldnt be surprised if people do it on Pi but not certain
