Loan policy update:

It's no longer possible to create anonymous listings. The borrower must have at least identity and address verified.

While I am not a borrower, I've had docs waiting about a week for address verification, is there a way to poke you with a stick?

EDIT: Nevermind, you already have this taken care of

I think 2 active loan limit is fair. Recently got burned pretty bad by someone with the username "user3984". Basically lost all the profit iv made and am now in the red.  This guy has like 31 repaid loans, but also has 19 that are currently active, and now half are overdue and he seems to have just peaced out with the money. Seems like he spent quite a bit of time building up loan rep then took out a whole bunch of smaller loans over time to make it not so suspicious.

If users were limited by the amount of loans to take out it could help get rid of this problem. Maybe have it so you can only have one "in funding" at a time, and max 2 active at a time.

No reason you couldn't just limit yourself to 2 loans per person when lending.  There are too few quality borrowers as it is to lend to.

Tulkas...

I have sent in the coin for the next payment on my loan, to my deposit address, but it hasn't even shown up as unconfirmed yet. Has been a couple hours now.

Deposit addy: 173JVQDZbogfvxCm2GBbgdKVNLmM16uymB

This is the same addy I have always used to deposit to with no problem, would you check to see something isn't working properly?
The wallet was changed after the attack, you should always generate a new address to make deposits. I will put the old wallet online and get the coins.
Thnxy, appreciate it.
Tulkas...

How is the progress on this? I'm getting concerned...

The site says I need to reverify my facebook account, but when I click that it just created a new account linked to my facebook account (my current account is using Google auth). Think its a bit broken....

Yep, its corrected now.

It would be better if you could show you actually owned assets rather than yet another social network account.

Do you mean proof of income, house ownership, etc?

Titles/deeds and mortgage papers I assume.

Sweet. Dropped a rating point because paypal unfortunately still exists. Roll Eyes

No, the logic for social networks changed.

Now to earn points your account must be verified ,old or with a minimum number of connections (friends).

The paypal reward still 6 points.

(to refresh the status of your account just sign in with Facebook). eBay will be updated automatically soon.

This is definitely a positive change to prevent throw away accounts helping scammers...  I have recovered the two missing rating points now. Smiley

Fair enough, my bad.

...still think it's unfortunate that paypal still exists btw. Grin

Edit: N/M logging in from fb actually dropped me to zero and apparently nuked my account. Probably due to the fact that my son uses my fb account 1000x more than I do.

Edit2: Changed fb account primary email address back to mine and tried logging into btcjam again from fb, but now it just says "We're sorry, but something went wrong."

Edit3: Apparently fixed.

It looks like everyone who has PayPal dropped 2 points today.  Is it only worth 4 instead of 6 now?  (For the record, 4 is a much more reasonable than 6 given that nothing else is worth more than 2.)  Or is it coincidence and all these people lost 2 points from eBay/Facebook?  I lost 2 points and my eBay is 4 years old and Facebook 3 years old with 100+ friends, so I doubt it is the second option.

The Ponzi scam operators are not going to like having a limit on the number of active loans.

I see that the Ponzi scam scum have started voting for unlimited loans.

I guess this poll will show just how many scammers vote.

Simple solution: do not lend to people with multiple outstanding loans.  Why does the site need to impose a hard limit?  I personally do not lend to such borrowers, but voted for "unlimited".  I guess that makes me a scammer.  Roll Eyes

Tulkas,

I suggest you not give a reputation point for eBay unless the person actually has some feedback there.  Otherwise, it is just yet another automated process for scammers to easily game with 30 seconds of effort.

Also, I have been getting the "We're sorry, but something went wrong." all day when I click on the rate a user button.  Something is probably messed up on your end.

Thaddeus

Thanks for the suggestion.

Now the Facebook and eBay accounts will only add verification points if they are either verified , old or with a minimum number of connections (friends).
