This coin is a pure scam and an idea is simply stolen from BTCZ. How many of you already lost money on this ZCL pump Grin
Yes, the real idea come from BTCz, I agree.
But there in no trouble : BTCz is still a better coin : no fork, no premine, no ICO, no centralized team, no hierarchy : the unique real anonimyzed Bitcoin is BTCz.
This Bitcoin Private is only to have more Bitcoin... or buying some BTCz.
Very sorry for the big losts of the ZCL buyers for this BTCP fork : -85% in less 24 h !!!

actually i think its the first Bitcoin * that is not a pure scam..

never heard of BTCz..
even if it would have the best tech and everything,
without hype and good exchanges is is worthless.
its all about Attraction and Hype.

and Bitcoin Private has a huge Hype and attention.
if Binance really will support trading i dont think ZCL holders have made a loss.

In BTCz we trust. Organic slow growth.
This fork is undoubtedly the best one of all the Bitcoin forks to have happened. It has an actual use case, now lets see if the dev can implement his vision before Bitcoin gets there. Got my fireworks ready, and am prepared for either outcome. GL!:)

It is except that the entire Dev team is MIA.

Bitcoin private seems to be much more embraced by the community than any of the prior forks. The development team has more experience and seems much more professional than the other forks. The privacy features alone make this coin better than btg or bch. I believe we can expect a starting price of up to $200 and the future is very bright!

Experience in forking for sure but not in development  Cheesy

Hi,

Before the snapshot, I had an amount of Bitcoin on my Trezor.

If I understand correctly, I'm entitled to have an equal amount of BTCP.

Yes

Quote
I also understand that my Trezor does not support BTCP (yet... ever ?).

Ever, I don't know, but for now yes for sure

Quote
Question 1 : If I spend my BTC now, what happens to my unclaimed BTCP ?

Nothing, you have your BTCP already and it's better to move your BTCs before claiming anything

Quote
Question 2 : Is there another way of claiming my BTCP besides waiting for Trezor support ?  I think that I can import my Trezor private key into another wallet, but that would expose my Trezor key, no ?

Yes, don't do stupid things unless you really trust the destination wallet

Alternative is there: https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions, and this is the most secure if you can use it

The drawback is that you need to do some little work to move your coins, it's not possible to do more simple without reverting to a dubious wallet sw

When I have a wallet with 20 addresses in it, does the 12 keyword key recreate the entire wallet with all of its addresses? Or does it only recreate one of them?

It's not a wallet sw, you need to identify the addresses where are your coins (so corresponding transactions with BTC, ZCL or BTCP explorer) before the fork and the associated privkey (in your wallet), and then create and send the transactions to the network

Yes, a deterministic wallet like the ledger nano will recreate the entire wallet (and all the addresses in it) from the keywords in the pass phrase. That's why before you use the keywords to recreate a wallet on a non-hardware wallet app you should move all your coins out that are associated with those addresses. You can think of exposing your pass phrase to a wallet app on your computer to claim a fork as burning that pass phrase from a security stand point. Non of the addresses associated with it should be used again.

Yes, based on many polls on twitter, BTCP is going to start trading at a minimum of 0.02 BTC and very few are going to sell for less. Who knows but in the first day of trading it will be very volatile and then it will stabilize.

There are several teams working on ZCL + DOGE fork to ZDoge where ZCL is going to be prices at 20,000:1 and Doge will be 1:1 ZDoge so those who sold ZCL under whale pressure without even getting their BTCP will regret like the guy who bought pizza with 30,000 BTC.

Oh sir, god really hear you. Your words are angelical sounds to my ear... y have 48 zcl before the fork and now i have devastated... but, I GONNA HODL UNTIL REACHES ZERO USD

what will happen to unclaimed BTCP from BTCs on exchanges and how will this affect the max supply for mining?

I'm sure the exchange owners will donate this BTCP to charity  Grin

How does one claim BTCP from BTC? Will it accept both private key formats?

Tutorials can be found here.
https://support.btcprivate.org/963324-Tutorials

Or here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.31273044

There is no "both private key formats", only "both public key format", which in fact are the same as explained in the link above (and same for private keys, btw), you can use both, the tool will adapt accordingly

@Haze, are you sure that you are not part of the BTCP team? (would be good news in fact to know that some members relay correct/official messages here)
