I'm trying to claim my bctp from the nano ledger. Got the electrum wallet with the coins in but if I try to send or broadcast to the network I get this error message. Can anyone help?

nano s ? i think they added btcp in the app, use it.

Hi, yes I've just been reading the instructions on the github page. Way above my knowledge unfortunately.

Hi, I was following these instructions for using the nano s app https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003294734-How-to-install-and-use-Bitcoin-Private-BTCP-

Just discovered that the electrum wallet does not support sending transactions when claiming from from segwit btc. https://github.com/BTCPrivate/electrum-btcp/issues/58 Would have been helpful if they would have put that in the tutorial!

I believe they did:

BTC Segwit Address (starts with a 3): create a new wallet and use this derivation path as shown below.

Note: Spending is currently disabled on version 1.1.1, but will be enabled soon on a subsequent update.

https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003294734-How-to-install-and-use-Bitcoin-Private-BTCP-

You can use the very excellent "Tool to claim coins for all Bitcoin forks without using wallets or running nodes" https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions to claim/move BTCP from BTC segwit addresses

i dont have a 100% secure way. but i just followed the instructions on the ledger website.

Wow, even Ledger supported BTCP.
To a great pity, fork rate both for BTC and ZCL was 1:1 despite the fact that 1 BTC = ~660 ZCL Sad

There are reasons for the forking ratios. You can be sure that they have been thoroughly planned in advance to fill the right pockets.

5. Recovering BTCP from BTC at the Fork

BTC Legacy Address (starts with a 1): create a new wallet and use this derivation path as shown below.

BTC Segwit Address (starts with a 3): create a new wallet and use this derivation path as shown below.
Note: Spending is currently disabled on version 1.1.1, but will be enabled soon on a subsequent update.

To send the funds, open the Coins tab on the main page.

Click spend and send to an address on your main BTCP enabled wallet.

Spend the whole amount minus the transaction fee and click preview.

Note: You should only have 1 output and it should be the original Coin amount minus the transaction fee.

Sign and broadcast the transaction.

Thanks. This may be a precious guide also for any upcoming possible new fork. In this tutorial I didn't read any instructions on moving first one owns BTCs to a different address, is that not necessary?

I am going to hold mines, just in case.

If you are long term holder than it can make fortune for you even there are so many rumors about the future of this coin but if you can afford to take risk than it could change your life. I have very few just for fun not as serious medium of investment.

do you know what is mc afee playing or planing with BTCP? i saw some rumours that there could be a connection to him.

If you just imported keys then it is the same. It is always recommended to move funds on new address by doing onchain transaction for maximum safety and the use existing private keys to claim the forked coins. I don't know how ledger wallet works but this is standard method. I have used in past for claiming successfully.

I've read of someone who has managed to lose all his BTCs by trying to claim the coins from BTCs which were on his Nano Ledger. Of course he has likeley been fished, but the point is that even Nano Ledger is not safe if you use it the wrong way while claiming a forked coin. Does anyone has a 100% safe tutorial on how to claim from a Nano Ledger?

If you’re not buying btcp now than you dont belong in the crypto market

I hope so pump will start very soon MCafee tweeting about this coin but people are very careful because of controversial reputation of the dev team. On the time of fork a lot of people bought ZCL at peak price and they are still into big shock because of this.

I would be shocked if people still freak out about McAfee tweets and buy coins only because of that. Often enough he also tweeted about shit coins.

Bitcoin Private is good because of tech not because of McAfee

John McAfee is for BTCP as representative most probably because of his few posts on twitter where he came out on driving seat for BTCP. In the long run if they will have what to show in privacy field which is promised they can survive as alternative else everyone is aware of the fate. For the moment Bitcoin labeling isn't working for newly forked coins.

Sure, just take a look at the roadmap
