Someone investing in Catcoin? In recent days it has taken a considerable leap, for a coin that has been dragging along in the years, i thought it was a dead coin, but slowly resurfacing from the ashes, Catcoin has an advantage, has years of existence this may be good for an exponential jump. I hope the community will recognize this.

I'm looking at this headline in a very simple way. It's a long history of coins. Are there many people digging this cat? I looked at the price. The short time jumped very badly.

Nope, just a few of us, you should probably not buy or mine catcoin, it's more of a community coin than a pump and dump.

Should I Invest in CAT?

Are the community alive?
Someone is mining?

I consider it mid-long term very risky coin with huge potential returns (mostly because of name and insanely low cap).

A few of us 24/7 miners purring along.  Invest?  Sure why not, it’s cheap and still actively developed.  We keep slimepuppy chained to the desk.  He should have atomic swaps up and running by Thursday sometime in 2025 I think.
LOL  Yes, we're working a full rewrite.  Atomic swaps will require other mods first like segwit.  Keeping me chained doesn't get us anywhere - Blak's the codemonkey. Wink

I think you called it right, Mike - we have more 24/7 miners than we've ever had, and more traders.  Not too long ago a Reddit list called us a 'sleeper' coin.  We're not just a pretty face with whiskers  Cheesy  - we're thinking more like 'get rich slowly(tm)'.   Cool

It will be better if you add any information about idea of project for people who don't know what is Catcoin.
The first post of this thread lists the coin info and has links to infrastructure.  The quick overview can be found at our project site:  catcoins.org

What specific sort of information would you like to see?

Is it possible to mine catcoins solo with asics L3+ on local network?

I don’t think there is an easy way.  I think you need to setup a stratum proxy.  I briefly looked at it and Blaksmith started to explain, but I ended up pointing my l3 at geekhash, less of a  hassle.  Jump on irc and go to #catcoin and ask slimepuppy and/or blaksmith, they always helping me get straightened out.

Hi Catcoiners,

i am new here and would like to ask why catcoin isnt on one of the major exchanges like yobit?

Happy Meow
We were listed from launch on Cryptsy until they went bankrupt.  We're listed on Cryptopia, which has higher volume than yobit.

I was send ask on major exchange markets to add catcoins. On bittrex ticket was solved. But nothing answer.
Think need to add catcoin on several other exchange markets for activate coin's growth.

What is hard cap?

21million, it's exactly like bitcoin, except it uses scrypt algo instead of sha256

The listings on those exchanges are free so why not spread catcoin a bit.
Hardly anyone knows about it.

If there is doge there needs to be cat Smiley

I want to start out by saying happy new year to slimepuppy and everyone else. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!!
i have a few questions about sending transactions with the wallet slimepuppy. 1st is am i supposed to include a transaction fee because i sent some to cryptopia and it didnt ask for the fee alothough i seen a setting where i could manually choose the fee. also the transaction has 0 confirmations outta 20 and its been about 2 hours now. Next question would be how much the transaction fee should be so this doesnt happen to me again if this is the issue. Last question is if there are any other settings i would need to change in the wallet that a newbie such as myself lol wouldnt know.
Thanks again for everything you all are great go cat go! Smiley Smiley
Great questions, chizzy!

The good news is that you don't have to add an additional fee - miners are still receiving 50 CAT per block, and our transaction traffic is very light.
The other news is that we're at the peak of a few long blocks.  We got hit with at least 40 GH/s earlier today and are still coming back down from that.  The confirmations should come very quickly once we pop the current block.  You didn't do anything wrong here.

Derp so catcoind works fine to get cli getinfo etc.. well sheesh.. Hey like I said I've never done this end of things before. Smiley
All the other coins I've messed with had a blahblah-cli and a blahblahd

There ya go.   Cool  Yeah, the catcoind compiles a CLI/catcoind for *nix and Windows.  Have to add a few more hoops to get the GUI.

Glad you're having fun!

I know it may seem silly, but this is the most excited I've been in a while. - Smiley Now I gotta figure out how to work in merged mining without breaking it all.. well more than 20 times anyway. *rofl* Grandkids are coming for the holidays so might not get around to it til after though.

Not silly at all!  It's a lot of fun when the pieces start fitting together, isn't it?   Cool

Happy New Year!

Quick question: 1 block = how many cats? (serious)
How long does it take to mine a cat?

Mahalo!!
@LIFEtoken_
LIFE TOKEN: DONATE TO MY LIFE 0x2852e8ea4d47e0e70b7d75aebd7e30010f880445
All of the details are listed in post 1 of this thread, and on the project site at catcoins.org.

Average block time is 10 minutes and each block pays 50 CAT.

Welcome to CAT!
