For forks sake lets fork this coin now, it is in the 3's now. It is now or never.

No, it's not yet.

why do I get the distinct feeling this is not a normal market movement but a trap or even a kill move. I mean somebody is buying all the dumped coins ... why ? if everyone thinks it's dying there should be no movement on the market not an increase in trading volume ... what the fuck people I'm new to this with no economical training and I can still see that this is not a death signal but a market maneuvre that if the market falls for (and it seems it has) will maybe kill the coin or set it up for a pump and dump ... I think you've all just been pumped and someone is getting ready for an epic DUMP.

I have to agree that we have to fix this. It's a fact that the retarget time with the current diff is a major problem right now.
I don't see how waiting would solve anything. The current situation isn't appealing to either miners or investors.

Various ideas have been tossed around about how difficult retargets should be approached and basically manipulated in order to counter multipools.
Seriously, forking the coin does sound silly to some of you but going through the effort of playing the system like that doesn't?

Ok. Let's make a new tradition, here on bitcointalk, and fork at least one of the new coins every day! Cool
On Sundays, we fork an animal coin. On Mondays, we fork the metallic ones. On Tuesdays..., no wait... we can't fork on Tuesdays because we need to keep an open slot for actually new, pre-announced (and pre-mined) coin launches! On the other days, we let a lottery decide. Except on Saturdays, when we shall let the f@ked developer pretend like she/he decides.
Deal? Wink

Just so everyone is on the same page:

Forking DOES NOT mean that you lose any coins you already have. As long as the exchanges update their wallet too even the ones on there will be preserved.

Forking DOES NOT mean there will be inflation. You can easily change the block rewards so that the rate of supply and the total quantity remains the same.

Forking DOES fix the issue of unnecessarily long block times and ridiculous retargets. It is the BEST WAY to combat multipools and miner manipulations which the thread has been complaining about since the start.

Forking DOES carry inherent risk. But to be fair, at this point the coin is dead otherwise so it's not risky anymore.

I think everyone agrees we leave the total number of coins intact.

Just make it 1 or 2 minute blocktime with retarget 3-4hrs.

Dev is probably still busy dealing with the robbery... Please when you see this either take action or realese the coin to someone to take over. We need to act, or at least let pppl know that we are acting.

yeah leave the total coins alone +1

And also reduce this: "Retarget: 2,016 blocks" right? So it adjust smoothly? Hope everything works out  Smiley
