It is very clear now that after bringing the subject up, the community is mostly against changing the coin. As long as that remains true, then changing the coin (even if it improves it) will ultimately hurt the coin as the community becomes fractured.
I really hope I am wrong and the hashrate death spiral I am predicting does not continue and continued promotion of the coin is sufficient to overcome this current challenge we are facing.

It's all highly speculative. I honestly don't know which way it's going to go, but of all the altcoins currently on the forum, I am excited about this one far more than any other, and see it as having far more potential than many others. I feel like it would only take a couple of events in CatCoin's favour to send it soaring.

I am not trolling. I very clearly stated that forking is extremely chaotic and extremely risky. If need be I will happily post a large block of CAT at a high sell price to prove that I am in fact invested heavily in this coin and not trying to drive down price.
You are correct, forking leads to huge amounts of problems and undoes a lot of the gains we have made on the exchanges and such. It is a HUGE risk and I get that. I made that clear in my post.
However right now, there is NO reason to mine CAT at all. They could simply mine DOGE, take that doge on an exchange and BUY cat if they really wanted cat. Hash rate wil continue to fall as more miners realize this.

Miners already has hurt it before diff recalc and now can inflate market with their already recived
"free money". BTC scheme not working with space rockets. It made fore SLOW growth.

Miners are an integral part of crypto-based POW currency. Without Miners to mint new currency, the market would stagnate.
