Hi overseerio,

As I said on my message, I compile the Wallet on Snow Leopard. I will upgrade my mac on Maverick tomorrow and retry to compile it. Thanks for your test. I hope to create a working wallet for maverick. The change from feline to california's place seems to move a lot of thing.

Fibonacci is how i imagine scrypt fpga(asic). FPGA and MUCH memory with INSANE memory bus width for salsa20/8.
I'm electronics engeneer(mcu, fpga, test and measurment) by the way. Make my SHA-256 FPGA miner on
spartan-3e(1..2MH) in the kitchen when all mine ASICS(this summer) and understood that it's shit (my hobby-trash).
But now i can draw schematic of sha256 round with closed eyes Grin.

Alpha tech have great idea and maybe they can bring it to market. But... Did you saw specifications?
128Mb of register memory for IC. 5W? I'm great sceptic. Their IC's crystalls is insainly BIG brick.
I'll be very surprised if their ASIC manufacturer can do acceptible valid crystall output rate.
It's remind me history with 3 cores AMD CPUs.

Hi happy fellow cats,

I spend the last hours to compile the catcoins wallet on Mac OS X. It currently working on Snow Leopard version and I was able to compile the wallet. So, I need some users to test my wallet.
You can download the wallet here : http://obn.me/catcoin-qt.dmg

Let me know if it works fine for you.

@kr105, I create a pull request on github to fix some troubles on Icon and Info.plists informations. I hope you can merge this patch.

Shaze

Hi Shaze, thanks for doing this! I'm getting an error trying to open it in OS X Mavericks:

Do the math, they are not that OP. Yes they are cheaper on electric but they are not that amazing when it comes to hashing. They are a bit better, but not a ton. I am doing 5mh/s with about 3k invested, they are doing it for about 2,200usd. Comparatively to ASICs which jumped the game from MH/s to TH/S I am not overly worried about it.

....

But they have been online for about a year now so I think they are quite serious in it, either way the rich get richer and the poor get screwed again Cheesy

But wait even we will have ASIC for script then Doge should be all most mined out haha Cheesy.
That is way to win race with good PR that coin can be worth many and widely use more that even with Litecoin.
Asic will just help Doge transaction to be fast.

Asics for scrypt? seems like bs.
That's my initial reaction too. And to be honest there's too many red flags in that thread that I would throw money at that company. And scammers inside cryptocurrency, yeah like, that'll be the day  Shocked

Best advice I have gathered so far inside this world is: Trust no one!

Has anyone even been in touch with these people from Alpha Technology? I know they're posting in a thread on Litecointalk.

There's a thread on Alpha Technology on litecointalk.org

If it's true though, GPU mining is f***ed.
Asics for scrypt? seems like bs.

It's not inconceivable. The main reasons Scrypt can't be ASIC mined is because I believe that you need a lot of fast access memory on the chip to be able to do Scrypt calculations. As others have pointed out however, if it could be done, why hasn't China done it already?
