is this crap coin, er, um, catcoin traded anywhere yet?

Yes, it is on CoinedUp, and so far producing fairly unimpressive results.

CoinedUp "locked in" CAT by tying its price to both DOGE and BTC - this coin will likely stay at the price it is now for some time.

How long does it take to withdraw CAT from Coined UP to the wallet.
Does it take similar time as new mined coins from pools ?

no only 6 confirms, newly mined coin takes 120

It's a bad(maybe not so) thing when we hit exchange before next diff recalc.
If prices will strongly rise and then falls after recalc, miners can throw catcoin and
we get long long diff recalc period with slow blocks. Since dont't have greate
hashrate rise, it's still ok. Don't do anything stupid like panic-sells or panic-buys.

CAT IS SLOW COIN like BTC, DOGE IS EXTREAMLY FAST, IT WAS SPECCIALLY MADE
FOR FAST PUMP AND DUMP (maybe multiple, since it not investement active, but a
mass-media product).

WE DON't NEED GREAT PUBLIC ATTENTION NOW. WE NEED IT LONG AFTER DIFF RECALC
(it seems it will be so, because of holidays).

Hold the line, brothers!

Yes, Catcoin is a slow process just like BTC.. The people who sell now will regret it later.. People just panic sell or greed takes over and they want to SELL SELL SELL soon as it his the exchange websites, well this is where people miss out on the big profit this coin can potentially give us.. I honestly think that this coin can reach over $10+ - 2014 is a big year for catcoin.

Miner, Trader and Investor are different professions and they have very different expectations and different work style. If you are/wanna be Investor there is no reason to bash other guys.
If you believe in CAT - deposit your house, take a loan and buy all CATs from dumpers. You'll bee billionaire next year Cheesy

And yes, problem of confirmations is real, because of small amount
of wallets working on user's machines.

Its funny how dogecoin's THREAD was released on December the 8th, and the thread only has 8k Posts.
Yet CatCoin THREAD was released on the 21st of December and it has nearly 4k Posts.

20 Days for dogecoins = 8k posts
7 Days for catcoin = 4k Posts

I think CATS are more popular than DOGES!

I have an idea for the official catcoin website and is just good in general. We should also use this as an opportunity to also help out various cat charities.
That's a really good idea! Anyone familiar with/know any people at good cat charities?

http://blindcatrescue.com/

http://www.meowcatrescue.org/

http://www.catchat.org/

Here are a few. On ebay, I see some Catcoin being sold that are also donating a percentage to cat charities, good stuff.  Smiley

People looking for a pool, I used cat.coinium.org and was pretty happy with that. I don't mine cat much lately though. I won a giveaway there =D

Did they add cat to cryptsy? Too lazy to look through the thread.

Not YET, but please please do post a tweet too: https://twitter.com/cryptsy

Ask them to add Catcoins [CAT] to there website, everyone wants it to happen so get it done already! Cheesy

Hey guys, I've forked liteaddress.org to be able to generate Catcoin paper wallets!

Generator: http://catcoins.biz/address
Source code: https://github.com/catcoins/address

Now you can start mining/receive coins without having to install the client. You won't be able to send any coins unless you install the client and call importprivkey on your generated private key, but this is a good way to get started.

As with the other variants of this, it's best if you fork the repo (or just download the HTML file onto your computer), disconnect from the internet, generate your public/private key pair + print it out, close the page, then reconnect. This is so your browser extensions don't have access to your generated private key.
Very good, kudos!
Thanks! We also have 120 CAT as a bounty for someone to build working Mac + Linux wallets, plus post step-by-step directions on how to do so: http://www.reddit.com/r/catcoins/comments/1tv53y/bounty_working_wallets_on_os_x_linux/

The NET hasrate for catcoin is currently rising! This is good news,

For the people saying this coin is nothing good than a dirty pump and dump scam.. Well you're wrong. This coin has potential since it being a clone to BTC but instead its using script. The total cap is 21million which is also great.. this will increase the price dearly. The next few days will be a slow increase, when the new year is here be prepared to see amazing results for catcoin > $5+ per coin, i believe it.

LONG LIVE THE CATS!!!

Hi,

I have little problem. About 9 hours ago I send catcoins from my desptop wallet to coined up, but still 0 confirmation. Today when I withdraw cats from pool, they came to me in minutes.

Even more disturbing is that when I look to catchain.info balance of my wallet doen't match with balance in my dektop wallet.

Could someone help me with that?
When you send coins from your desktop wallet, it sometimes generates a new address for you and sends an additional number of coins to that address -- no idea why it does that, but you definitely still own those coins. You can check what those addresses are by going to the console and typing in the command "listreceivedbyaddress".
