MAX SUPPLY 84 Million?
Nope, wrong.

MAX_MONEY is used only to help some functions to parse the inputs, like:

if(input <= 0 || input > MAX_MONEY)
    return "Invalid amount";

The actual limit on the supply is imposed on the GetBlockValue function, here, as if you keep halving 50 each 210,000 blocks, it will end in sightly less than 21M after the block subsidy round to 0.

Although I forgot to change that 84M value, it doesn't mean a hard fork to fix it nor any big problem, so thanks a lot for the bug report but all the fuzz was not needed Smiley

I was about to sell 920 CAT for 0.5 BTC, but I ran some quick math in my head and the result was that either those cats will buy be 5 BTC (if not more, but no less), or cats will be an entirely extinct race in a few very short days.

I can let go 0.5 BTC easier than I would hate myself for letting 4.5+ BTC go just because I didn't have a little curage to wait.

But honestly, I think I just dropped the oppurtunity to earn any BTC from that CAT night. But never mind. It was fun regardless. Or continues to be. I don't know. Grin

I agree, i'm holding most of mine so I don't punch myself in the nuts later for getting out early.

Anybody worried about the decreased network hash rate? Embarrassed
We should have kept it up at >=1Gh/s until CAT hits CoinWarz, Cryptsy, etc. Undecided

I do wonder why people panic so quickly. The coin's been on coinedup for a few hours. The coin itself is 3 days old. It's made fantastic progress.

I don't want to beg. But I have just been scammed 200 CAT for "charity".
It will take me a LONG time to mine those again.   Sad
If anyone is willing to donate, I would be very happy. Anything helps.
I have no received 30.5 CAT

Well...

static const int64 COIN = 100000000;
in util.h

Which would make that 8,400,000,000,000,000 coins?  Huh
Floating point arithmetic sucks, so the coins are stored as integers. There are 10^8 = 100000000 of the smallest unit (analogous to a satoshi in Bitcoin) in a coin.

This means that MAX_MONEY should in fact be 21 million * COIN Sad

So we have a coin that's as hard to mine as bitcoin, with the quantity as litecoin? So what, all mined by the year 3000?

This needs to be fixed. I think the dev has time.

it's 21 mil chillax

So it is correct?

84 million x 0.28965= ~24.33 million (litecoin)
84 million x 0.25 = 21 million (catcoin, ?)
