At the end of the day, coinium guys have been lucky and distributed themselves a good amount of catcoin. But this is far from the launch of the coin itself.
Anyway, this coin really does have a suitable name. This coin nearly died again tonight.

That's 2 lives already out of 9.

7 left.

Running a %0 PPLNS pool doesn't collect much CAT's, only the donations..

Catchain.info is the main block explorer for Catcoins from what I understand, and it currently shows block 20324, generated approximately 2014-01-04 22:04:49 with 17 transactions, value out 294.56266897 and difficulty at 4.0.

If this is not correct, this website has potential to cause major confusion as to what is the correct fork. If it is displaying information from the wrong fork, then that needs to be fixed ASAP.

It has to be from the wrong fork. It followed teamcatcoin fork, but now this very same pool has the same blockchain as coinium, and threw away the catcoin gathered that had no value anymore (200+ for me).

What is the correct network hash?

Coinium shows 224.339 MH/s pool hash but wallet shows 144.96 MH/s network hash.

You may need to re-download the blockchain.

how to do that? can i do it from the debug window?

Yeah, ive re-downloaded the wallet and it still saids syncing and it stuck on the block 20349,

what are the nodes?Huh

This may be a dumb question BUT - is it possible that the poolerino blockchain got so far ahead of the other blockchain, that its chainstate got replicated into a whole bunch of QT nodes, per the "longer chain wins" logic, and despite poolerino trying to get back to the "other" blockchain, what was the poolerino chain is winning despite poolerino's attempted corrective action, due to the Bitcoin logic which states that it's not any centralized authority that determines what is the correct fork, but which fork is the longer one?

Please someone with more knowledge than me confirm or refute this reasoning.

I think you delete the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Catcoin\blocks folder, BUT GET CONFIRMATION ON THAT.

Whatever you do do not delete the wallet.dat.

I'm thinking that what happened was unavoidable.
Difficulty retargeted just after 14 blocks at block 2304, the next multiple of 36. Because it included blocks found with the high diff, diff retargeted at 4, the minimum possible from 16 (explained sooner by somebody else, thanks to him again).
With a difficulty that low, hashrate is as important as luck. We had a stream of lucky find at teamcatcoin, hence our blockchain was longer for a very short time. But with a much higher hashrate, coinium finally took over, and diff was back to 16 again.
Another protection should have been implemented to avoid this situation, but hey, it's already in the past.

Your coins are safe on the exchanges provided the exchanges are on the right blockchain, as those coins came from before the fork. The safest thing to do is wait until the dust settles and contact the exchanges and make sure they're on the right blockchain when this is over.

This has been a major shitshow.
I have miners spread throughout. I'll check in every once in a while, but I'm gonna play some games and relax a bit. This is stressful.

I'm just wondering is it safe to transfer my coins to exchanges (coinedup, cryptsy, coinex) ?

Wait, we're testing it out and we will let you know as soon as possible.
