Hey guys,

I think it may be best to get as many reasons as possible to do a fork and integrate them all into 1.  I personally think we should to keep it easy for the users/exchanges, the investors and service providers will likely appreciate that we try to keep the disruption to a minimum. (plus I would imagine they stay a little more current than the end users do.

I want to reiterate here too that I have a pair of servers with 10TB bandwidth each that I have earmarked for the Canada eCoin and its server needs.  I think we should get a NodeBB instance working on one and move this conversation; from there we can vote in a better way.  What do you guys think of that? (Any NodeBB fans out there?)

Great advice Rw13enlib88

I am as well
Next time I am speaking with the head of the dev team, I will mention for him to maybe make a post or something for a update.

Thanks!! Wink

Hey there Rw13enlib88, add me to that list. Wink

I've been doing some research regarding doing a fork to change the chain ID and I think it would be best to have the Canada eCoin forum up first.  The reason being is that there are a few more reasons we may decide to do a fork (ie multi-sig address magic byte) and we should plan on doing them all at once.  Also, a lot of Canada eCoin users out there that arent 'up-to-date' and may not know about this thread and something of this importance would definitely benefit from having a 'home base'.

So on the community side, I concur with your suggestion and I would also suggest having a forum moderator (builder/maintainer) appointed be a high priority.

Hi Koad!!

Totally agree on having a forum moderator/community manager appointed.

On the hardfork point i would like to point out some pros and cons.

Doing only 1 hard fork:
- Easier for users, exchanges and services but we need to wait till its ready

Doing 2 hard fork:
- More difficult for users, exchanges and services but we can start showing potential investors/users/services providers that we are working on CDN and it deserves to take a look.

Which option you think is better? Any other pros/cons?

Happy New Year everyone!!!! Smiley Smiley

I dont personally know the dev team but I would suggest the devs to be more communicative with the community.
Time to time update would be awesome!! Wink Smiley

On the community side, I would suggest to make a little list to see who is willing to collaborate to make CDN a better coin.

Community work would be get more exchanges, get more merchants, PR, videos, memes, song, articles for newspapers...

Woah block worth 1.5 million CDN??? I wish I hopped on that

Edit: I dont want to double post but another block for bit over 8k and the recipients aren't even on the pool.
Note: I think I should have been included in this because I was mining before it appeared, I could just be really confused about everything right now.

Hey there aroshi,

Those images are of a transaction, the actual block can be seen here -> http://explore.ourcoin.ca/block/5841a98261ebd29d10625b2a66a4d021797f90eaf14701665e72bc89bd724460

You will notice that the transaction you took the picture of is listed there with another transaction which includes the mined coins for the miner.  Each block produces 12.5 new Canada eCoins for the miner.  This particular block was not mined by the Canada eCoin pool (at pool.canadaecoin.ca)

I have problems when I enable CDN when I already have syscoin. is this being worked on? It seem they are using the same chain ID or something?

Is anyone else successfully merge mining this?

I will record what happens when I jump on the CDN pool with one of my terminators then send you the results, to be honest I am unsure of what the issue is.

Also I think there is a nasty scam or error with block chain, the first few hours I had my miners on the main E-Coin pool only 1 person was under the "recipients" for payment for the blocks I was finding and I assure you if it was me I would have stuck with CDN. I don't like sounding rude and call out a creator on their page but that left me puzzled with there being 4 people mining total only 1 miner gets the reward?

Hey there aroshi, do you have a transaction ID so I can look it up?

Please keep in mind that there is 120 block maturity before you get paid, so its possible that your payout was only for 1 person because at the time of the coins being mined there was only 1.  Also,  There is a minimum payout, so its also possible that the lower hashing workers didn't get paid out at that block because they didn't meet the minimum payout; in which case their coins would be held until they had produced enough coins to trigger the payout.  Also the payout is every 5 minutes so that is actually a very common thing to have happen.

OK for me. Bleutrade must be warned also

Definitely will have to warn Bleutrade.

Should I merge mine or just mine from the Canada E coin pool? I have just dedicated 200mh/s and plan to rent 100-300mh/s more.

Its up to you aroshi,  merged mining is always good because you get more value for your spent energies.  Saying that, I would recommend mining on the Canada eCoin pool but that is only because I have a strict bias towards things I am focusing/working on. Wink

P.S. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Cheesy  We finally got some snow! (Kitchener, Ontario)

its something you should be doing.

Yes if a fork is needed it should be planned out and put into action. Merge mining coins need the maintain compatibility among the others.

Ok then, If anyone else has anything else to say; please don't be shy!  Otherwise I'll start planning the fork in the new year.  I've created an issue on Github ( https://github.com/Canada-eCoin/Canada-eCoin-qt/issues/1 ) to track the outcome.
