Basically a Proof-of-Stake is not made to be anonymous. On the contrary, it rely on the fact that everyone know how much coins there are on each address at any time.

Not sure you understand what we are doing or the way Sunny King built PoS. We are using Proof of Stake extension protocols, not the standard PoS system itself.

Could you please extrapolate on your statement "it rely on the fact that everyone know how much coins there are on each address at any time".

Also the part about saying you could create enough evil nodes is the equivalent of saying "you could create enough evil miners to make a 51% attack."

PoS works on network weight, so those evil nodes would have to have a large amount of the coin, and if they did, wouldn't if be counter productive to lessen the value by trying to corrupt it?

Correct me if I'm wrong - this is the only alt. coin currently attempting (and seemingly making good progress) on PoS Anonymity / Privacy of any kind ?

Even if the scheduled release has some issues and isn't fully working etc. - as long as it can be built / improved upon, then it will make for an important crypto currency milestone.

At the current price its probably worth acquiring a few cloak - that's not investment advice, although nothing ventured - nothing gained perhaps.

BitcoinFX is a godfather. He stood on the shoulders of giants at bitcoins inception. I respect his word. I will buy a few cloak.

I don't know the Sunny King PoS. Does it involve mining ?
How does it verify data between nodes ?

Can someone explain me, probably the devs (I don't want to hear any trolls), how can a Proof-of-Stake be anonymous ?
The goal of an anonymous coin is to obfuscate how much someone has and all transactions.
A Proof of Stake work because the network know exactly how much coin any address have and where does the coins came from.
PoS and anonymous are totally opposed.
Please read the CloakSend 2.0 PoSA whitepaper if you have not already done so.

Are the devs reading the thread ?

I am not sure, I don't want to create a panic but I see a potential flaw in this system.

Basically a Proof-of-Stake is not made to be anonymous. On the contrary, it rely on the fact that everyone know how much coins there are on each address at any time.

Trying to obfuscate addresses information is a threat to the network. The network need to be transparent and verify data.

Someone could potentially create enough corrupted nodes to relay wrong data and create infinite amount of coins to dump and crash the market.

Can someone help me with my out of sync wallet? Send some coins to mint yesterday, but the transaction is stuck somewhere.

If you stay in the IRC for more than 3 minutes it would give you a better chance of response.

Ok so you stayed for 10 minutes this time before closing page.

Try again.

Hmm, didnt realise there were quite so many Anon coins atm Smiley

Lets get voting for Cloak on that poll, might get a bit if exposure!

One thing I've noticed about Cloakcoin is it didn't get the massive price rocket and then slow and steady death decline that 90% of coins get.

It seems to have a slow and steady changing price. Will it eventually get it's own huge price rise? Definitely possible as no-ones had a big loss from this coin yet so it's more of a safe bet, there's no people wanting to do a massive sell off.

CLOAK has no banker, now also did not see the banker, the banker's powerful, CLOAK could rise further.

Seriously though I think the Cloakcoin community could benefit from having it's own premium forum on https://cryptocointalk.com/. We'll be able to have sub-forums for technical issues, promotions, development progress on the different Cloak products. Not to mention it is TOR/i2p/VPN friendly. Bitcointalk is honestly good for initial exposure but once past that phase we need a bit more organization. It's definitely a more professional setup than this long gigantic thread without the need to run separate forum software on the cloakcoin website.

Nah either stay here or have an own official forum.... dunno why there is the need to get onto another forum... btctalk is the mainstream site ... no reason ... not even that TOR stuff to change threads

An official forum within the official website would be nice but the exposure from being on a mult-coin forum is better. Official forums require additional development resources and why would the community want to divert development resources to an official forum? https://cryptocointalk.com/ is light years ahead of bitcointalk in terms of the forum software and the community seems a lot more mature. This forum has been reduced to a former shell of itself.. intelligent discussions about technology have been reduced to "FUD" cheerleading from opposing camps.

Marketing an anonymous coin on a forum that extorts TOR/I2P/VPN users seems counter productive.
