Reminder for everyone to vote on these exchanges.
https://www.mintpal.com/voting

We are doing good on MintPal; bribe if you must. Being stuck on few exchanges makes it easier for market manipulators to hurt the coin.

There's also the Cryptsy petition.

Does it have to be a single character?  What about just using (O) since it has already been marketed anyway?

Yep it could be.

I have been using this for Coin(O) since day 1.

No reason a currency symbol has to be a single character, and (O) is actually easier for people to type at the keyboard rather than an ALT key sequence

And this would probably be more acceptable to the German average crowd Smiley

I was never thought that average sign in shool Sad

It is only used in German-speaking countries.

Elsewhere it is an x with a bar above it or a =  with ~ above it.

No. That's approximately.

The point is I worked in GERMANY for 8 years with some seriously  educated people and they wouldn't even know what the mathematical average sign was.

Youre right, it does mean approximate. Or congruent in the case of triangles in geometry.  The average symbol is the xbar.

Are you dead ?

If not then coino is fine Smiley

exactly now is the best time to mine coino... really low difficult-level :-D it is really fun if I am watching my coino volume going up^^

But I don't think it will be a quick win - it is more a long-term investment Wink

Btw guys, is this a good idea?

Buy a red fury (2.6gh/s, sha-256) --> mine some sha-256 coins --> exchange them into Coino

Is it profitable? I would buy it on http://bitcoin-world.net for 0.05 BTC.

Greetings, DDerTyp

Not at all, don't do it! You would be much better off taking that money and buying a cheap video card.

Some perspective: With my one 1.17 Mh/s rig (1170 kilo hashes/s) I usually get in the ballpark of 500-800 coins daily.
With 9x 0.333 Mh/s ASICminer USB Block Erupters (so 3.0 Gigahash/s total) I made about 0.05 BTC in around 2 months. I was very lucky to make my money back. 0.05 BTC is 2500 Coino at 0.00002 BTC. Less than a week mining scrypt coins net me over 2 months worth of SHA256 mining. no matter how you break it down that is bad. SHA256 mining is for the big guns and hobbyists now.

You will be lucky to make your 0.05 BTC back in a few months. Might be 6 months, or 9, or never with the current difficulty though...

I hate those things... What will coinmarket.io do with these guys? Will they do something with her/him?

I don't know. maybe if we talk about it in their support thread

Thank you! I think you are right... Do you think that some scrypt USB Miner will appear in a few months? With a good hashrate about 1-2Mh/s?

Saad.

Can we try your logo with just a single strike through ?

The reason I ask is that there is actually an ASCI/ UTF8 code that has a Latin character O with a single strike. This would make it really easy to price goods with a currency symbol.

U+00D8 Ø Ø latin capital letter O with slash

i.e.
Ø15,000

Just like the dollar
$15,0000

What does everybody think about this as a text based coino currency symbol ?

making that symbol is def. what we should do! thats one of the ideas ive seen yet! keep up the good work

yep! Ø (ALT + 0216) is better... You can use the ALT code! Maybe saad can make a version of that... Or what do you think?

sry but that is the symbol of the arithmetic average... lol -why not using this one ¢ or this ©

i like the versions saad has done so far, but I would prefer to use the current logo as well at the coino.org and all other websites... I think it is something special. Look at the whole other coins which have jsut these boring static brand logos...

If we talking about forms or static ads in newspapers - or if we have in the future a merchandising shop.. with t-shirts, longsleeves, stickers, cups and so on we should use the version saad had done.

I also like the logo Saad has done but for writing out a currency value on your keyboard it would be good to adopt an existing ASCII symbol, and the LATIN O with Strike is the closest symbol to the logo.
It doesn't mater if it's the mathematical average sign, there is no reason it can't be used when referring to coino quantities

I also like the ¢ symbol but maybe to refer to coino cents Smiley

500¢ is equal to Ø5.00

But I think  µØ looks pretty cool anyway

Yeah exactly. I Second the single struck O. I love the double strike but unfortunately we can't implement it. We can easily adopt the single strike, however.

I was trying to find an ASCII symbol with a struck O, that one's perfect. Also love the cent for 100 units, and the mu coino Smiley That'll be the day, when we're dealing in fractions Smiley

No one would confuse it. Only us techies, maths and science majors would know what the averages sign even means. Bitcoin does have it's own symbol, yes. But it can't be used anywhere as it's not implemented into the alt codes... You have to make do with the existing struck Bs.

Please appologise but I don't know where you are living.. Here in Germany every kid after the 6th grade knows the average sign and is normally using it.

I lived and worked in Germany for 8 years and not even the techies I worked with understnd the average sign. So I don't think you have much of an argument here

I had asked my collegues now (all are native germans like me) and all draw this Ø ... sry but I don't know what to say more....

I found this here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%98

U+00D8 Ø latin capital letter o with stroke (HTML: Ø Ø)
U+00F8 ø latin small letter o with stroke (HTML: ø ø)
Not to be confused with the mathematical signs:
U+2205 ∅ empty set (HTML: ∅ ∅)
U+2300 ⌀ diameter sign (HTML: ⌀)

hmm, co(i)nfusing... I think saad should create a version with this: Ø
Than we can vote!
