If it's Colossuscoin COL (Version1) you can't swap anymore. The COL blockchain was broken and
"The swap has finally ended on 26th of January , 2016."

Yes, the instructions are correct... have you read them fully..? Have your coins matured for at least 7 days since they arrived in your wallet..? And if they have, have you unlocked it for staking..?
