As you probably can understand, I'm not a naitive English speaker, and my English isn't too good, but I'm willing to pay for a server (or vps) and for a domain name for a wiki page for us. If anybody wants to manage and update it constantly, we can do it. Besides the Christians there's few other notable users here that contribute to this community, maybe any if you would like to help setting this wiki page.

Honestly i would never have guessed you weren't a native English speaker. I am English and the way most people spell is considerably worse then yourself.
As for paying for a server (vps), i wouldn't too much bother with it. I will host the wiki if needs be, ive got to get some use out of my server, but i wouldnt expect 100% uptime from a freely hosted server Wink
especially when i break it or have to reboot for updates

Don't praise him, bigjme  Grin. Let's him practise more. Even the worst English speaker/writer as myself was getting praise from bigjme as well. This guy is really generous.  Grin
But don't believe him, non-naive English speakers. Train your English more  Grin
I'm always trying to get my English better, unfortunately I don't have any native speaker to practice my English Wink
Bigjme, having a separate vps for wiki is not a big expanse, I think 20-30$ a month its something I can pay for. What we really need is some community members that willing to go throw this thread and find all the useful info. As well, anybody who have knowlage on building it, especially with different compute configs, and willing to write a newbies guide (something like the one on the cuda forums) would be nice.

I would kindly ask people to report Spoetnik's post to moderators.

This crosses the line.

Spoetnik is well ignored all over the forum, Christian. Don't ever mind him and read his post. I just ignored all of his post forever. But I did report his post as you wish.

I did suggest a quick fix a month ago but I don't have permission to commit in the base code. You only need to comment out those lines in parse_cmdline function:
Code:
        if (opt_algo == ALGO_HEAVY && opt_vote == 9999) {
fprintf(stderr, "%s: Heavycoin hash requires block reward vote parameter (see --vote)\n",
                        argv[0]);
                show_usage_and_exit(1);
        }

Thanks,
from CLI also works:

Have to say I was surprised by this post, I'm not used to see so much hate in this community. Don't let him spoile it all. Christian does an awesome job with cudaminer and cc miner, and post all the sources for us. I could maybe understand this reaction if this guy was paying for Christian's service or for his software. As long christian does it at his own will, doesn't implement auto donation mining in his software, like some does. And post it all free for us, we can only admire his kindness. He could save those sources to himself, make shitloads of money, and I'm even not mentioning the time he spends here helping others. Christian, you're my mining hero! I've donated as much as I could to christian for all the hard and innovative work he does. I wish I had the knowledge to contribute more to this nvidia mining awesome community!

Now, regarding the complaints made about this thread, its actually a little bit out of control, 4-5 new pages daily makes it a bit hard to find useful info here.
But it's only another indication to Christians successful work. I've posted only few times here, but was lurking for a long time, and I guess theres hundreds, if not thousands, that lurk in this thread. The attempt to make a separate forums for nvidia miners was good, but didn't really caught up. I think the best solution for this is having a wiki page, with all the useful data, links, code and anything else that get posted here...

Hi, Christian!

small bug with JSON config file found:

Code:

we found the issue a while back, it just needs i think its 3 lines removing? just the heavycoin algo check which shouldn't be there anyway

The fix is not beautiful, bigjme. The 3 parse_xx functions have some duplicated code which could be remove/optimize. But I think Christian doesn't have time for this, and it isn't really necessary either. Wink

Whole lot of LDS going on in that post... Reported it as well before I even got past reading half of it.

Then I saved myself some brain cells and didn't read the rest.

How do people get through life like that?

Clearly he is just not happy others do not exist solely to fulfill his needs in the mining world. That must be an extreme letdown to deal with.

LOL

You just keep doing what you are doing Christian, there are far more of us who do appreciate your efforts.

I have a compute 2.x compile in my signature but I support his decision to drop support for this. Why focus on REWRITING code for another compute which wouldn't be profitable at all?? If you think it's possible, make your own fork and do it yourself, like I did.
I couldn't get it to compile for lower than 2.x, or any recent source commits for 2.x. But that doesn't matter really, compute 3.0 and up are the standard now, and are so much more powerful.

And for the cudaminer, I got way better results with the 32bit. For every user I helped here, and everywhere else like IRC, the 32bit seems to work better. And BECAUSE there was a 64bit version, everyone was stuck with this one and was wondering why I got 20-40kh more than their cards...

So just support what you think is best, christian. I'd be happy to blow your dick, but you'll need to release that killer groestl first  Cool Grin

whats the best thing i can do with my NVIDIA GTS 250s? (Sensible answers please Wink)

that's still a great card vor watching movies and porn.

or use his miner that STILL works before he dropped support for your card ?
Or perhaps it's just that card doesn't support compute 3.0, thus nvidia doesn't support his card. Tongue

You could make the argument that older cards could be supported, but realistically all developers need to draw a line as to what hardware will be supported so that they can continue to work on the latest and greatest.  Their time is best spent working on thinking forward, rather than working backwards.  I know I have a couple 8800s laying around someplace, but I don't expect them to be supported by anything really.

that is retarded.. he killed of all cards pre kepler by using one command the shfl command
why ? because it made newer cards faster..

you could make the argument that dropping x64 support for "advancement" reason is literally a contradiction to advancement lol
he claimed last year he didn't want a cudaminer 64bit because it was slower and i made one and proved it was faster then he released one lol
so WTF ?
this guy just romps around doing whatever he wants throwing out any half ass excuse for it all..
and hey.. he / they can do what ever they want but i am more than entitled to call bullshit on the excuses for the dumb decisions.
abandoning x64 support ? Abandoning Linux compilation support ? Abandoning Fermi cards..
it's just pure stupidity..
it takes MORE code to use the Compute 3.0 instructions he used.. it would have been LESS work to add support for FERMI cards.

i could go on a for a MILLION years.. but the bottom line is i think the guy is a dick.
and i base that on a variety of experience with him going back 8 months from the first time i dealt with him until now..
many time she has stated i was wrong only to copy what i did with his miner later or fix a bug he lipped me off about saying didn't exist lol
only to release a failed non working fox for it later.

what i see here is 400 pages of dick sucking fanboyism and it make me want to throw up.
doesn't matter what the guy does here .. you will all blow him.

and merging the topic within an hour or two (changing title etc) after i suggested that people start a new thread for ccminer was pretty dickish.
i said it and he immediately updated this topic asap to say this was for TWO miners now.
and i was making a point that trying to sift through 400 pages almost was hard enough
and now everyone is going to have 400 pages with people discussing two similar but VERY different programs on the SAME topic
does that make any sense at all ? seriously Huh
have fun reading through 400 pages.. trying to figure out what program each commenter is talking about lol
hey why not add some more miner projects to this topic too ? the bigger it gets the easier it is to read hahha
commons sense much ? LOL

about 2/3 months ago i compiled this guys miner for everyone here and posted it (because he didn't feel like doing it but was bragging about using it to us all on Max coin)
and i removed the whole start up info with his name etc
and i did that because he wasn't willing to compile it for ALL OF YOU reading so i did it to be nice..

and for several pages all you assholes shit down my throat and then later the big dick himself started in on me too
bitching at me about copyright shit.. which was dumb as hell all i did was compile it remove his name.
the include files showed the license details (that show most of the program was made by POOLER etc not chubner1)
and did even one of you say thanks Huh? fuck no ! you fanboys dived on me like pitbulls !
and did chubner say thanks for compiling his program for him yet AGAIN in the last 8 months ? fuck no !
did he say thanks for posting on this topic providing support to everyone a 100x using cudaminer ? never.. not even once !
And did he or anyone else even stop for 2 seconds to think why i removed his name on that build before crucifying me like a bunch of assholes ?
I'll tell you..
So people would know he didn't make it. period.
Does that make sense ? does it make sense i was trying to respect the guys work by making sure people knew it was built by me and not him ?
So if there as a problem you can come after me about it and not him ?
Was i the one who got pissed off because my donation address lines were removed from the console ? Did i have any of my own put in ? noooooope.
Does he share the donation money with anyone ? cough cough "Pooler" lol
Where the hell is my donation money ? 8 months of work and 100 fuck you's is all i have ever gotten.. endlessly like a broken record from day 1.

fuck em and fuck all of you i will never support this garbage again.. made by a super dick and supported by prick fanboys.
just spare me the stupid dumbass excuses for stupid decisions please.. such as above
Quote
realistically all developers need to draw a line

i can't stand this topic or this guy or the other new guy or this miner or even Nvidia anymore.
Just thinking of nvidia and the last 8 months of occasional random dickish bs from this topic has soured me on Nvidia for life.
If i ever come here i usually see bragging about hitting some coin hard and source only posted...
I use to be a fan of Nvidia but this topic and all the extreme fanboysim and bragging etc has turned me off Nvidia for life i think.

One of the cgminer core devs told me the same thing before about this guy and his topic and miner too so don't even bother trying to make me out to be a Troll.
That cgminer dev said all that and i had not even said a word to the guy.. he said the same type of problems i mentioned First
then after i laughed hard on Cryptsy chat last year and told him I KNOW.. i have been through the same crap with the same guy a few times.

no way in hell i will get involved with this nvidia garbage ever again..

28nm are on the way, they should be available at worse at the end of the summer

the waiting game is if they will live up to the awesomeness that is the 750 cards
Come the end of the year i intend to replace my server again, got to get me one of those devil's canyon intel chips, and a new motherboard, maybe one with extra slots for some new nvidia high end cards?
We will have to see, i left plenty of building space on my GPU power supply

I just wish for a mid-high end maxwell GPU.

If the hashing power would scale with the one currently deliver by the 750ti it would be awesome.
