Can you help me with right settings and what hashrate do you have?
Now i'm have this results, but i think it's sucks...
try autotune with -L2 or -L3 and -D so you can see what config will be best

Rig owners:

  • Website pool manager. Their system allows you to change what pool your miner is connected to right from the website. Allows 5 pools to be configured with fail over.
  • Hash rate graphs!
  • Algorithm choices include: Scrypt, Scrypt-N, Scrypt-Jane, SHA3, SHA-256, and the new x11!
  • As a cudaminer user wouldn't you love back up pools? Their system lets you use 5 backup pools and you can control them from the website.
  • There is no fee to use the site/service for the miner controls or hash rate graphs. You never have to list your rig for rent if you don't want to.

Renters:

  • Make rental choices based on "actual" hash rate. Their system tracks the past 24 hour hash rate with a moving average.
  • Backup pools! Have you ever found yourself trying to be ready for a coin launch only to find out your first pool choice isn't up and running? Their system takes care of that, by letting you set up 5 pools in a fail over.

Not sure about the whole "renting thing?" No problem, it's 100% free to list your rig with their service and the backup pools/hashrate graphs are completely on the house. If you decide to try leasing your rig in the future, you will already be setup.

They have lots of website/interface improvements in the pipeline, with a very active development team.

As always, this is with 8 750 Ti's with an occasional 9th assist. If groestl gets way more hashes expect it to be one of the higher paying coins.

Do you mine everything basically 'solo'? or is this just the way that you calculate.

I have never tried solo mining... but it would be so nice to not have to really deal with all the pools.

I have 6x 750ti up and running as of last night, so would you think that these numbers would be straight conversions (as estimates) of performance? Or is there some level in solo mining where you will never get your own block done?

Thanks for any input, I always find your charts useful.
To clarify, I don't usually mine solo. That is just a theoretical solo mine time needed to receive 1 block based on current difficulty. I have it there just to see if it might be better to gamble on solo mining and avoid pool fees. In the past I've switched to solo mining Fugue a few times because the block times were so low for me to find a block by myself. So in a nut shell, no real need to solo mine.

Seems like windows is preferred, and certainly a lot easier to handle (particularly if you are a complete Linux novice like me...). I will report back on any attempts at Linux overclocking, for anyone that does happen to use it!

Very easy to start and handle with Linux is to use KopiemTu "out-of-box" Linux solution, verified 6xGPU:

"With screen -r invoking the cudaminer display (all those yay!! rolling by...) is there a list of commands to use on that display? The only one I am aware of is Ctrl-C to quit. More helpful would be something to, say, show the gpu settings. Or, something to adjust the mining operation."

After some investigation it seems this is due to problems with MSI Afterburner beta 19 :S

I have had the best luck with letting either Afterburner or PrecisionX do their thing, but then I kill off the processes (and the voltage regulator exe that is running) completely before letting the rig get to mining.

Seems to help a great deal with keeping the CPU load down and helping with performance of the entire machine.

On the latest nvidia driver for linux 337.12.  with cuda 6

Unfortunately i cant tell what options are in the nvidia-settings as my monitor is plugged into the intel video.

From the cli tho everything looks fine.  ccminer works well, i think there is a slight increase, but could be placebo.

Great. Will give the drivers and overclocking a go when I get a chance. Benchmarks for gaming elsewhere suggest it may not be working properly.

How are you overclocking in the BIOS, I thought you could only set power target in there which is not worth it?

After re-installing the NVIDIA drivers everything seems to be running fine now.

The two MSI 750 ti TF cards are a bit faster than the OC models. Cards 0 & 1 are the TF models.

I am able to push the OC cards up to the same level as the TF cards, but card #3 always seems to have trouble with the higher speed and crashes, but no matter what it seems I do that card fails even when I don't push it at all in the OC settings.

The weird part is that once the card does fail with the extreme overclocking (it runs about 3300 khash/s as well before it crashes), that is clocks itself down to 2,975 khash/s (which is still higher than what I get with no extra OC settings at all), and if I don't reset the cards and re-apply OC settings I can start it right back up mining and everything seems to run great from that point on.

So I actually end up with ~19,400 khash/s doing that, but if I need to reset the machine remotely it will certainly crash and be stuck spewing errors in CCminer for hours unless I can get to it and send it a CTRL-C then restart.

Currently I have chosen the stable, less OC config for the 4x MSI 750 ti OC cards, but I don't know if it is worth looking to send back a single card like that for a few hundred mhash/s.

The TF cards are also running MUCH cooler on the same coin (Groestlcoin). The single fan/smaller heatsink on the OC cards are running 49-51 c, but the TF cards are only running 37-40 c despite achieving a higher hash rate.

Whole system is drawing 271W at the wall while mining Groestlcoin with all the TDP raised to 65, and 'normal' levels of overclocking for the two types of cards.

The TF models were about $20 more each, but I have to think another $80 invested would have been worth it for another 1 Mhash/s across the 4 cards.

6x TF cards would be pushing ~19,800 Mhash/s.
