What do you think about https://empoex.com/ exchange?
It used to be a very good exchange, but not very supportive recently. Have a ticket hanging there for about two weeks without any answer or reaction...

It is preferable to have all of your coins in the same address, moved there in the same transaction.  That allows all your coins to stake as a single unit, so it will happen more frequently.

Maybe I misunderstand something, but I do not agree. If you have all coins moved to your wallet in the same transaction, then you will have just one "input" (coin block), and will stake just once per 7 days in the best case. So you will have just 5000 coins per week in this case.

I have multiple inputs in sizes between 5000 and 105000, and I stake 5000 coins few times per day - in average more than 7 times per week, making it more than 35000 per week. So at least in case of CV2 this approach (having multiple inputs of average size) is preferable.

On this, I completely agree with you. It could be I have not expressed myself clearly:  I forgot to mention following:

"It is preferable to have all of your coins in the same address, moved there in the same transaction using the "Block Splitter" feature (Coin Control Features > Inputs ... > SplitBlock) .  That allows all your coins to stake as a single unit, so it will happen more frequently."

For example, see transaction ID: f7c3c466242cc0d0072e66f99d6e76214fc9e3f144000d27a887092801172cd2  (One Input and 7 Outputs of 100,003.33 CV2)

A block of 600,020.0 CV2 will give you - at best - 5000 CV2 once per 7 days. If you split it into 6 parts of about 100,000 in one simple transaction (Block Splitter), they will give you 5000 CV2 each. Mature blocks are competing with other mature blocks to successfully stake. Blocks with the highest stake weight have the highest chances of staking, depending on block size, the time connected to the network attempting to stake, and the network stake weight.

For sure, you can also send 6 transactions of 100,000 CV2 to the same Colossuscoin2 Wallet Address in a row.
When the weight of your block is big enough to overcome the difficulty, i.e., your block was lucky to be hashed with a successful result, a special automatic "coinstake"
transaction to yourself is made which gives you the fixed block reward.
As a result your average return will be much more bigger. You can continue splitting until you get a comfortable block size which can stake in a reasonable time.

Block Splitter: No need to use mutliple transaction to split a coin block of 850,000 CV2 into 10 coin blocks of 85,000 CV2. Split your coin block in one simple transaction.

Thanks for elaborating further Tom. Great to see we all agree on the best way to stake. I actually forgot about the automatic split function, as it is mostly absent on other wallets and I typically do all the splitting by hand. CV2 wallet (as well as PayCon one) is a really advanced one, with many features which not many other altcoins are able to compete with.

Also thanks for exhaustive explanations. Its great to see such caring and helpful member in this community! I am staking this coin for many months (mined it in the beginning), and glad to see it gaining momentum.

Just one more question:

I would like to make the most out of staking.

Does it matter if you have coins are spread out over a few addresses
rather than having them all in one address?

It shouldn't affect the staking in any way. Only input size (coin block size) matters. Make sure you have them in 50,000 coin blocks or bigger. On my experience, block sizes around 70,000-80,000 work best. As far as I can see, as soon as those blocks stake and reach 110,000 CV2, they automatically split into two 55,000 coin blocks.

You don't need to split them all into different addresses. All Blocks of Coins in the same address are combine into one Block when they stake and if they are in different addresses or wallets then they wouldn't combine into larger Blocks. Here is an example:
https://www.blockexperts.com/cv2/height/206426
http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/CV2/tx.php?tx=0710b56c0c4b90a1141a764b91110ecd89fa5009b413bb06c217acc9423ad0f0

It is preferable to have all of your coins in the same address, moved there in the same transaction.  That allows all your coins to stake as a single unit, so it will happen more frequently.  Each individual "unspent output" stakes by itself. You will gain a very small increase in staking gains due to compound interest this way.

For privacy reasons, some people may prefer to keep coins in different addresses.

Tom

I am getting a few orphans from my coins that are minting.

Should I eliminate orphans in my Colossuscoin2 qt?

Orphans do not really mind as long as you get a few blocks once in a while and getting an occasional orphan in minting is normal. Your weight stay the same after an orphan meaning the chances are good that you will get a block soon after the orphan, so your coin-age from the coin group selected for minting isn't lost when a stake fails.  It keeps trying again until it is successful.

Try the latest release, this is the official Colossuscoin2 version 1.2.0 release in the OP. Version 1.2.0  includes a change to the hashsettings which should reduce the amount of orphans, you can also clear orphans in your wallet by using the repairwallet command.

You can remove the orphans from the Menu, Tools -> repair wallet.

You should also have your computer sync to internet time, you can do this by right clicking on your computer time in the right hand corner, click on "Adjust date/time" and click on the "internet time" tab and click the option so sync to internet time.
