@gcjh, I had a similar experience. I was one of the early investors into this project, and I attended a webinar, thinking that it was live. Over time, of course, as I invited a few friends to attend a webinar, I came to realize that it was, in fact, pre-recorded. That's when I stopped sharing the news of ConnectX.

Additionally, at this time, Lance had sent out an email stating that they would only be accepting accredited investors, and that all other investors would be refunded. At this time, I was at a crossroads: I had learned more about the company and seen the way that their marketing channels were being pumped with shills... And the people that expressed that they had questions... Well, they were quickly shushed and told that "Lance would answer all the questions in due time, so be patient" or "Read the pinned chat" or they were just banned... I was shocked to see that a company that was only accepting accredited investors (likely to be compliant with SEC regulations) was treating potential investors this way.

I instantly messaged all of my friends to ask them not to invest in this project. Two of them had already put their money in after becoming accredited, but I was able to stop what could become a nightmare for a few other friends.

At the end of the day, although the project sounds pretty great (and actually feasible), the way that the public was addressed and the way that their marketing and PR is done is ultimately the reason why I don't feel comfortable backing this new company.

In all honesty, it almost reminds me of a network marketing or MLM (multi-level marketing) company... Which in my experiences have always ended up negative.

Considering that ConnectX is trying to raise millions of dollars, the least I would expect from them is proper marketing and investor relations.

I looked at project's vision and I saw that this project is promising. It has great team that key to success

Could you detail and share more about your vision? And could you let me know where I can get more information about the team responsible for the project?

Thank you Lance and ConnectX, because of you I'm finally dipping my toes in and making my first-ever post on the forum! Thank you for the motivation.

My experience with ConnectX, like pretty much everyone else I've talked to (and most of the people on this thread), has not been good. I don't know for sure if it's a scam, but there are many signs that seem to indicate that it is, and at the very least they're being shady and are run by someone who should not be running a company.

The first thing that was very, very odd to me was the webinar. I was big into airdrops at the time so I figured I would check it out so I could get some free tokens, along with a free "$300 appliance" just for attending. It seemed too good to be true, but you never know, right? I had nothing to lose. The idea behind ConnectX sounded interesting, so I figured it was worth giving them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Then, while watching the webinar, I noticed something a bit odd. The majority of the comments were people praising ConnectX, Lance, and the technology. Over and over, short, positive comment, after short, positive comment, even when nothing noteworthy was being talked about. So I started really paying attention to the chat, and that's when the alarm bells got even louder. In addition to a steady stream of obviously fake comments, Lance was continually answering questions that nobody was even asking in chat. Ok, I must be missing something, so I keep watching. Nope, time and time again Lance is answering questions that aren't being asked. I scroll down to see if I can find the questions, but they just aren't there.

It was not a webinar, not even close. It was a recorded video with a "live" chat, but there seemed to be hardly any real people in the chat. The whole thing was a complete sham, and when I asked about it on Telegram I was told that Lance is a very busy man and doesn't have time to do live webinars, so it was a recording of another webinar. Ok, well first of all, that's not a webinar, that's a video. If you're going to lie to me and force me to signup for your "webinar" and attend it at a very specific time, well right then and there your company is pretty much dead to me, as that's some shady garbage and I'm not going to give money to a company that outright lies to people and wastes their time. And second of all, if Lance is "too busy" to do a webinar for potential investors (ie. the people who will either make or break his company), then how does he have the time to sit on Telegram 24/7 answering questions?

I kept asking questions on Telegram to figure out the legitimacy of the project, but the answers I received didn't really answer anything. Then I made the mistake of using the word "scam" in one of my messages. That was it, their bot automatically banned me from the channel. I'm sorry, but if you're a legitimate company you'll be able to answer basic questions about your legitimacy, and you also won't be so insecure that you would insta-ban people for literally just using the word scam in a message. I messaged Lance and explained what happened, and after a while he let me back in.

I continued to ask questions, like any serious potential investor would do, but Lance just kept pushing back and not actually answering anything. So I tried to explain my position to him, logical human being to logical human being (hah!), about how I was just doing my due diligence, as every investor should do, and that I wasn't accusing them of anything (yet). I said that if he's not going to answer the questions then doesn't he understand how that would look to potential investors? Then I just started getting, "Sorry X, I just don't think this is a good fit", meaning that he doesn't think I will make a good investor in the company. He was essentially telling me to take a hike. Why is that Lance, because I was questioning your BS? To me it seemed like the spammer mentality... they only want the naivest people to be interested in what they have to offer, as those are the only people who are actually going to fall for it. This is the impression I got from Lance, not one of a CEO and Co-Founder.

It's at this point I gave up on anything ever happening with me and ConnectX, so I just explained outright that they need to change their attitude or they're going to have a hard time getting investors. Then guess what happened? One of their "big time" investors starts private messaging me asking if I have any questions. I told him no, I had all the information I needed, and was going to do what I could to warn people about ConnectX. So of course he does what any legitimate investor would do... threatens me with ConnectX's stable of lawyers who "used to work for the SEC", so if I wanted to talk bad about them I would have to answer to them. I was in disbelief at what was happening. I honestly felt like I was on a hidden camera show and someone was going to pop out and tell me that it was all a joke.

The bottom line is that ConnectX is either a complete scam, or being fueled by complete and utter incompetence. Or both.

I take it that this thing is now officially dead. I used to get so many email asking me to buy their tokens. Now they have gone silent and so has this thread.

In BTCz we trust. Organic slow growth.
ConnectX

A private network of small satellites that stores digital currency wallets and performs financial transactions ‘off-planet’ eliminating the use of the Internet.

[Technology]  Deploying a DAG/Tangle and new transmission and storage technology based on 3D symbols that gives a price reduction and security enhancement over ground-based solutions built for the cryptocurrency community.

The Internet (not to mention digital currency exchanges) is not secure and the Blockchain is not scalable or efficient.  Financial data is being breach, transactions are disrupted and digital currency wallets are being hacked.

We propose a private network of small satellites for cryptocurrency data storage and transactions that is Internet-less, blockchain-less, server-less with security above government level at a price lower than terrestrial-based solutions.  This is the future.

There has been quite a few negative posts in this thread from people who clearly have no idea what they are talking about.  I have asked them to delete these ignorant comments since there is overwhelming evidence that this is the future:

Qtum launches a blockchain satellite node:  https://cointelegraph.com/news/qtum-launches-first-ever-blockchain-node-into-space

And Jeff Garzik, who I have known for several years and early developer of bitcoin, has joined: http://spacechain.com/

Dude when are you going to stop sending us spam messages? I thought your gig was over already. I unsubscribed and got another email today. Never got any of the "free" tokens you promised either.

But I am the crazy one and this is a crazy, suspicious project?  Qtum launches a blockchain satellite node:  https://cointelegraph.com/news/qtum-launches-first-ever-blockchain-node-into-space

And Jeff Garzik, who I have known for several years and early developer of bitcoin, has joined: http://spacechain.com/

Please delete your silly comments where you question me and the company.

Thank you.

😂😂😂😂
Also. Umm.... did you read the websites those links direct to.

1. Jeff didnt join you. You joined him.
2. The website boasting about the satellite and promoting a countdown, went oddly silent when the rocket (someone elses rocket) actually launched. Nobody is responding to comments and the space agency that launched the satellite has no info in their press release about your satellite.

Seems slightly odd (dare i say silly) to be boasting about yet more absent information.

So youre asking me to delete my "silly comments" because, unlike on telegram, you cant just block people that question you.
When you act like a scam, people treat you like a scam.

This also isnt new. Primary schools send satellites into space. And it doesnt take 5 years.
You started out promising "big data" processing with satellites. Now you seem to have scrapped that idea and are going for "big money" in satellites.
Your webinar looks dodgy as hell, seriously. Just, so bad. Your description and equipment is highly contradictory. (You dont need the internet, but you need to plug a box into the internet. You connect to the satellites using a handheld dish... with no apparent way of tracking wjere the satellite is. Etc etc.)
Your attitude stinks. You dont gain trust, respect, or credibility by blocking people that question you. You get ridiculed and avoided.
I wouldnt trust you with my monopoly money, let alone my real money.

So tell me Mr parker. What part of this statement is silly?

I give the company information in the webinar and we have released our team information at https://connectx.com/team/ .  I have been in technology for 20 years.  Whenever something is new, we expect the negativity but this is a real project and real company.

Great - thanks for posting this!!! SO we'll not only get the great hub for free but a bluettoth speaker on top if it? Ain't that awesome!

I guess Lance should watch a webinar on how to properly plan and run a scam, the first lesson would be not to make it too obvious and while everything he promises and the way he tries to push people into promoting his coin and of course, buy them is enough to raise more than one eyebrow, using stolen and mildly modified images from the internet is making it very obvious and should convince the last one in doubt if this is real or not!

By the way, ANY image on the website is also stolen. The first image is a popular wallpaper that can be found on thousands of sites for example.

I fully agree!

I have never seen anyone trying so hard to push you into buying their "product" as hard as this guy does.

Buying his coins before it is
-available at a serious trustworthy exchange and
-will go straight to YOUR wallet and
-any actual progress can be seen while
-an actual team and anything else a decent ICO comes with is introduced
would be simply crazy and like burning your money.

So far it is all promises but no results.

Isn't there any place in the US (since this appears to be an US based project) you can report such obvious scams to in order for them to look into it before people burn their life savings based on what seems to good to be true??? I'm not from the US so I don't know.

This thing has scam written all over it. I followed the webinar, complete BS. Shady reference guy appearance talking even more BS.
The telegram channel is a "dont post any questions here" thread. Lance seems to be the one man show running the thing, assume he will bring the satellites into orbit personally. No team introduced whatsoever. Whitepaper talks about a beta in 2017, no follow-up. Furthermore, contrary positions are made. In telegram they state they will have their own ledger, hence they will create a wallet for you. Later on they said, they are preparing the MEW address for the token. On the website the token are on sales for a couple of cents, but you can only purchase through a telegram bot - WTF. You are going to raise millions and you want me to send money to an address given to me by a telegram bot....lol...nice one.

This thing will blow up....put your money into a decent project that thrustworthy.

Billy, you are definitely not alone thinking that there might be something wrong here.

I gotta give it to them that there were actually first reports about their plans dating back to 2015, but that won't make me trust this much more at the moment. Maybe it was a serious project in the beginning and after finding out that it is simply not feasable they went on anyway and decided to at least cash in on it. We'll see in a while I guess.

The beyond generous rewards for referring your friends to their webinar are also looking kinda shady. They are either very generous or offering somehting that won't be of any value or simply doesn't exist i.e. you'll never receive.

They are blocking/banning anyone asking about their team etc., but put so much effort into recruiting new webinar participants, making people help them getting press coverage - it is surprising they didn't simply make up a team. Most people don't check their background anyway, presenting a few faces wouldn't be that much of an effort.

As I said before, this sounds too good to be true and at the same time lacks any evidence. Not exactly the kind of combination that makes me wanna invest any money.

Yeah looks very suspicious. Whitepaper is total BS, no useful info at all. No team member names given except for the CEO "Lance Parker", who has a suspicious looking LinkedIn profile. Says the company has been around since 2014 but I couldn't find any information on "ConnectX" online except for on their website.
