Service Announcement!
Community pool is temporary shutdown due to ongoing DDOS attacks (looks like we are getting more popular and some people don't like it)
Traffic is arriving at 3-5 Gbps (compare this to your avg cable/DSL speed!!) from time to time. Server can handle this, but data traffic costs are eating up my Onions!
This is a community-pool and not a multi-million dollar company so resources are limited for mitigating such attacks. I will do however whatever I can to keep the server up to a decent level. It seems that based on the type of attacks these are some script kiddo's (it's holiday after all) and hopefully they will move to another target any time soon and I will make it more difficult for them as well!
Please make sure you have back-up pools in your miner software,with the community-pool on number 1 of course!
Let me know if you need help setting up such settings in your miner. (or use google!)
it just shows deeponion is getting more attention that hackers are getting interested in this project. sir, i commend your effort in keeping the community pool intact. i hope this will end soon. the more they attack, the stronger we get.
ALL PROBLEMS FIXED!!
it does require however an update to your miner settings:
you need to change your miner setting for a new stratum URL (I need to switch servers in order to fix the DDOS problem)
Old settings (example for sgminer):sgminer.exe --no-submit-stale -k x13mod -o stratum+tcp://onionpool.youngwebsolutions.com:17333 -u youngwebs.1 -p x -I 14
Cange it to the
NEW server (
onionminers.youngwebsolutions.com)
sgminer.exe --no-submit-stale -k x13mod -o stratum+tcp://onionminers.youngwebsolutions.com:17333 -u youngwebs.1 -p x -I 14
remember the old stratum server is dead, you can only connect to this server now:
stratum+tcp://onionminers.youngwebsolutions.comlet me know if questions arise.
FYI, i got from my hardware and network contacts the message this was a severe attack. One they did not see very often.
Someone is seriously trying to malfuction the mining on the community pool!
But they will not succeed, The community is here to DOMINATE!
