DO has many competitors in coins market, these days it is very hard for a coin to overcome others, really tough.
IMO DO marketcap is passable, keep in your mind that each week DO frees a lot of coin that adds supply, and with new role holders could sell while remain in airdrop list, so with this in mind keeping price stable is a hit.

so it's an opportunity for us to get more onions

We are currently seeing the lowest prices since the start of the project. It really comes down to the community's will to HODL.
I think many of us, who know the true potential of DO, don't want to sell onions cheaply. So only a matter of time, when we see price rising again.

In fact it was just lately where we saw a price fall down and it was not affected so much unlike some of the altcoins who really increase even at almost
