The supply does not matter, only the quality of the project is what will make it successful. You may have a coin with only few million supply and it may completely flop. I have some faith that this may be a successful project with good out come.

Why is dev so sick?
They make a supply of coins up to 100,000,000,000
It's a very painful amount, really sick, what's behind you making this much coin?

Try to consider the value also sire. 400,000 dents are equal to 1 Etherium only. They just want to spread some large volume of the coin.

I think the number of dents won't matter anymore. Large volume but low value coins.

In my opinion, coin with big supply and low price very nice for long term, so i will hold this coins for 2 or 3 years,, but this is just my opinion sir  Smiley
1 to 2 years you hold, and the third year dentcoin delist from the exchanger.  Cheesy |just Kididing|  Grin

Coin supply is irrelevant. Only noobs get fooled. 42 Coin is only 42 coins, but it's traded under 8 decimals. Blackbytes and IOTA have massive supplies and traded using giga as a unit.

It's the amount of money that funnels in and growth potential that are important.

they explained it, they need a lot of liquidity in coins for a project like that (market is really large, better like this than have people go lost for using tiny amounts like 0.0000003 dent for a data sell)

Can't grasp the very very huge supply of this. This one will just go down in crypto history so fast.

Billions of people use mobile data, therefore the currency needs to have enough liquidity to be in the hands of people, otherwise the marketplace would not work properly.

Remember when we had to pay for local and international phone calls, video calls, text messages, picture messages, etc?  You can use data for all of this, and pay for nothing other than the data.  This is the area where the telcos have already lost profits to advances in tech and populism.
With DENT you would still be paying telcos for the data, as per usual, you're just letting someone else use it.  The reality is that they won't actually be effected financially by it too much at all.
It's also worth noting that there are already moves, globally, to become competitive with roaming data charges - some telcos (T-Mobile) have already made it completely free, simply limited in speed.
The days of $2K billshock are likely soon over.

Completely agree with this your statement, with data you can do alot and have changed the landscape for Telcos. The space is getting competitive by day. I think there is room for growth in developing market if the team can get their strategy right

Please change my rank in the table of signatures for Full Member.
If you want to ask about rank change, you can post it in here : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dent-bounty-program-1974726 and this is more appropriate cuz this thread about the project not about bounty, read first before posting !!

Everything will be fine
Since the idea is relatively new and the team can implement it at its best, the project has a future. Especially mobile communications. This is the hit of 2007.

The price is not expensive, but there are billions of total supply That's the only thing I'm worried about, hoping for a perfect harvest

You shouldn't be concern about the token price but the marketcap valuation and I don't think ICO funding is too huge when you look at the amount of funds been raised in the market recently

Where is a roadmap?
This looks like a beautiful words without strategic planning. Why investors should pay for this?

woa the idea of creating a marketplace for mobile data is top notch! I'm reading trough The Dent Wireless Team and I must admit that devs have the knowledge /know-how to accomplish this BIG project. Wanna say GL to all  Wink

I read your whitepaper, the idea is interesting but how is this supposed to work?

You are trying to offer something that you have no control over, namely unused mobile data traffic.
What leverage do you have over telecom providers?

How are you going to convince them to open their data links to users from abroad just because they have some DENT?
Are you hoping to form a massive userbase which is supposed to pressure their mobile providers to implement DENT?
How are you going to achieve a massive userbase without any funcionallity in the beginning?

What should incentivise telekom providers to use DENT? 33 milion is peanuts for Deutsche Telekom or Verizon. I guess the cost of implementing is higher than that? And if this ever becomes something that market strongly demands why wouldn't telekom providers come up with their own solutions and sideline yours?

It would be interesting to know what the team about this project can tell...

And answering this: "And if this ever becomes something that market strongly demands why wouldn't telekom providers come up with their own solutions and sideline yours?"

Telekom providers won't show any type of these solutions, because their paradigma, way of thinking or the way they see things is not about bringing this type of solutions to mobile users, their goal is to make profits, make money, that's their main focus and goal. In order to achieve something like this, there is the need to think beyond this mentality that most people working in a corporation have these days.

Hi,

Telcos could of course come up with island solutions for their own user base, in fact some telcos have already provided some sort of data pooling or roll-over to the next month, however with DENT we are bridging across operators, and we are providing a platform which scales and removes the need for each and every operator to provide their own. DENT will provide simple integration to the telcos and the telco’s users are ready to go.

Cheers, Mikko

It would be very helpful for potential investors if dev could give us few examples of real life use cases of these "mobile data" that will be connected to a Dent token.

May someone answer my question?

This project (DENT) is really interesting and like everybody else I want it to be successful. However, I don't see how the team is able to implement it. Let assume that the team is able to collect the maximum amount in the ICO and is well supported by the community. Development and marketing goes really well and the community base grows exponentially. They release the app in which users can share data and earn Dent coins. People starts using and things started to get traction.

The operators looses their revenue and soon finds about DENT and the revolution!

And now comes the problem : do you really think the operators would allow this? They could prevent users from sharing data via a third party app like Dent. Even if the users somehow manage to share data, won't there be legal actions from the operators against the users and DENT?

How is the team going to face these issues and counter them? The team really needs to explain and nail these issues if this project has to become a long term success like an Uber of Internet data. Remember that Uber is facing hell lot of issues right now even after disrupting the field in which it deals with.

I would greatly appreciate if the team answers this and add a well featured video about it in youtube, even write a detailed blog about this issue.

This project is never going to work for the reasons noted above. Why would the telcos ever allow their mobile users to share or sell the data that they don't even own, especially when the telcos spent billions on building the infrastructure?? Uber works because people own their vehicles. Mobile users do not own their data.

Still awaiting a good/legitimate explanation to this problem from the DENT representatives. If they can provide a good explanation I have + 200 eth to invest. Thx

I was thinking so but I can see that Ripple has the same supply and the price is $0.25. Of course that there is a long way to hit ripple, maybe never, but the price can reach a few cents and we'll gain a lot.
Token prices depend on how the platform evolves for a long-term perpsective, speculative price points are only for short-term. Exchanges do not affect the viabliity of a platform until it's finished anyway.
