Have you guys applied for the seed AWS and Azure funding yet? The only requirement is having emails and a website on the same domain. They give out a few thousand dollars in instance credits each without much thought.

AWS Activate application portal: https://aws.amazon.com/activate/
Azure for startups (can also still get their BizSpark Plus program if you reach out, no longer published): https://startups.microsoft.com/en-us/program-details/

I have been working with support and DeroBoy this morning to try and help with the network problems that we've been seeing. To that end, I have created a network of 6 geo-diverse nodes dedicated purely to running Dero daemons. The nodes have each other as priority nodes, and it is requested that all pools add them as priority nodes too.

Thanks for helping out, Speedie. I regret - yet again - that I have no more merits to give out...

One thing you might want to clarify is whether these priority nodes should only be used by pools or anyone running a local wallet?

Good point. They can be used by either. At the moment the big task is getting all of the pools synced up and then remaining that way, but certainly adding them to local wallets is no problem at all and would help.

10-4, adding those priority nodes to my batch file; keeping the ones that CaptDero suggested we use earlier.

Thank you for the hard work Speedie. Is there a place we can donate to help support the cost of running the nodes? Would like to help any way I can.

I greatly appreciate the offer, thank-you, but the costs are already covered. My way of helping out since I'm useless with Golang  Smiley

They are located in: New Jersey US, Los Angeles US, Dallas US, London UK, Amsterdam NL, and Singapore.

IP addresses:

45.63.6.91
108.61.220.229
207.148.5.250
45.77.89.64
45.76.42.165
45.77.242.137

To add them to your pool's derod startup command line:

--add-priority-node 45.63.6.91:18090 --add-priority-node 108.61.220.229:18090 --add-priority-node 207.148.5.250:18090 --add-priority-node 45.77.89.64:18090  --add-priority-node 45.76.42.165:18090  --add-priority-node 45.77.242.137:18090

I will be watching them carefully to ensure that they stay in sync and running fast. So far no problems noted, and they're under very low load. Any problems please let me know.

Hello everyone!

Speedie has been in direct contact with our development team and has added us 6 new nodes. I'm writing this to let everyone know that Speedie has the 100% support of the Dero team and we appreciate everything that went into this.

I am not exaggerating when I say it's things like this that make a project and community great.

Thank you on behalf of the entire Dero team Speedie!!

Have problems occurred?
Hash Rate was up to 20 Mhs.
Now was 11~15 Mhs.
I saw it at seb 7 pool.
But i was not mining.
It was rising yesterday as well.

There were a couple synchronization issues in the last 24 hours. The Dero development team has identified the problem and are working on this as we speak.

Given their recent history of  entirely rewriting (nearly complete) and digging through all of the CryptoNote protocol they have a solid handle on the situation, don't worry, a fix is coming very soon!

By the way, the golang version has made excellent progress lately!

Seems like incorrect calculation of hashrate, because difficulty is the same with other pools.

In fact, there is a number of other dero nodes who are reporting the same blockchain as dero.tech, according to logs of my daemon.
I don't know why but they fail to synchronize, some of them get banned.

But how much of the total network hashrate do they command? If they only have a few kH/s out of several MH/s - like dero.tech - then they are wandering in the proverbial woods without a compass... I'm not saying this shouldn't get fixed, just that it's hard to get worked up over.

According to the speed of finding blocks and corresponding difficulty, seems that the remaining part of the network is about one half of the official one (where pool.dero.live is), may be slightly more (400-500k difficulty against 700-800k). I could not find the other pools supporting that side of the network, may be they are private miners or something like that.

Thank you for your work!

Sorry for some bad words but I hate losing money Sad And it happens 'cause of that forking issues, it's very annoying.
I still don't understand the person growing the alternate blockchain on and on, now it's 40250 (official 40256). I've just checked that the exchange is on the right side of the blockchain (the only reason I thought why it could be done). Hope the alternate will never get alive.

Good luck to all dero project and to your team!

You're very welcome, and I know that when it comes to things of this nature that everything is taken quite seriously. So no stress there and honestly, I get that things can be frustrating!

Thank you for the positive wishes, we appreciate when your support and will do our absolute best to reciprocate on this matter.

They come with something like "2018-02-28 14:30:51.831 [P2P0]  INFO    global  src/cryptonote_protocol/cryptonote_protocol_handler.inl:305     [89.163.214.63:59030 INC] Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 40258 -> 40255 [Your node is 3 blocks (0 days) ahead]
SYNCHRONIZATION started" and then go away.

Thank you for your work!

dero.tech is a repeat offender with the blockchain going out of sync and has had a tiny minority of the network hashrate for a couple of months now so I'm not sure we should worry too much about what is going on over there.

DERO did have a lot of problems with its blockchain at the beginning (and I was a loud critic of this as well) but over the last few months it has been running quite smoothly so what is happening the last couple of days is unusual, but not unheard of, and in all cases CaptDero sorted things out.

I, personally, have moved my dedicated DERO rig over to mining MUSIC because of this, but likely only for a few hours or a day at most.

Seems that also somebody (may be maliciously) is building very long alternative blockchain. I don't understand why.
Pool at dero.tech, for example, shows constantly extending blockchain with different (lower) difficulties, now its length is 40240 (official blockchain has 40245), seems that it's forked at 40213. Please be aware of that.

If you want us to mine at pool.dero.live, please fix its network issues. They are quite annoying.

Pls mine on official pool only http://pool.dero.live for next few days till forking solution is developed and to avoid any complains.

Hello cotinco,

We really do understand your concerns and have escalated this issue to a top priority. The developers are actively working on this issue right now and there should be a resolution very shortly.

It looks like there may have been more than one pool pushed out of sync but the pool operators are getting them back online.

As a miner myself, I know where the community is coming from. I've got an investment into mining equipment so any time something like this occurs I feel it as well.

I can personally assure you that the Dero development team is already on the case with vigor to resolve the issue.

Edit: Our development team has rewritten nearly the entire CryptoNote protocol and are incredibly well versed with the code. A real solution is being worked on as we speak Smiley
