PoW algorithm is not mentioned in this update
Does it mean that in this update there will be no change of PoW algo and Dero will remain ASICs-oriented coin ?

No, just that the PoW algo was not mentioned.

You are talking about PoW algorithm, whereas our use of DAG, specifically DERO-DAG, is for network consensus, which is first ever to be used with CryptoNote, and is PoW based, so Dero will be using a mineable DAG

PoW algorithm is not mentioned in this update

The wording in the update, "DERO-DAG is mineable, POW based, fully linear with same level of security as blockchain," sure seems to imply it is talking about a change in the PoW algo. I may be drawing an incorrect conclusion here, but it certainly is a reasonable one.

Interesting... I had wondered if requiring a progressively increasing DAG file - like Ethash - would be one way to make ASICs less-effective (I no longer think they can be held at bay indefinitely). In fact, there is already a real-world example of this: the ASIC developed for Ethash only delivers a relatively modest increase in performance vs. cost vs. energy usage over a typical 6-8 GPU rig, mainly because it has enough memory on board to deal with another 2+ years worth of expected DAG growth.

It will be some sort of DAG and Cryptonote algo's alliance?

DERO May Monthly update: https://forum.dero.io/t/dero-monthly-update/446/3

DERO-DAG(Directed Acyclic Graph): DERO Atlantis will be DERO-DAG based. DERO-DAG is mineable, POW based, fully linear with same level of security as blockchain.
No orphans, scalability limits defined by resources(Compute, Network, Storage etc.)

DERO May Monthly update: https://forum.dero.io/t/dero-monthly-update/446/3

Summary Atlantis Update:
Following blockchain technologies has been implemented in Atlantis:

DERO-DAG(Directed Acyclic Graph): DERO Atlantis will be DERO-DAG based. DERO-DAG is mineable, POW based, fully linear with same level of security as blockchain.
No orphans, scalability limits defined by resources(Compute, Network, Storage etc.)

Client Protocol: It handles same transactions mined by two different miners in different blocks mostly due to luck/Network lag.

Bulletproofs: Smaller transaction sizes for CryptoNote Protocol.

Ultra Compact Blocks: Faster block propagation times and low network usage.

Core progress on track.
Explorer, wallets too are being re-written to handle Atlantis.

In another 15 days Atlantis will be released for alpha-tests and Hopefully before next monthly update we would be on Atlantis.

Can i somehow paste address when send dero? I try CTRL+V and rightbuttonclick, but it doesnt work.

I complained about the same thing a few weeks back and there is a way to paste from the clipboard into the wallet client, it's just very cumbersome and does not conform to the Windows standard. You have to left click on the tiny program icon in the upper left corner of the command window to open a drop-down menu, then select Edit, then select Paste.

Obviously, you need to copy the relevant data into the clipboard first (address, password, whatever).

***

In other news, I just checked the official pool and see the hashrate is above 700MH/s and that a Baikal Giant N now only makes 0.5 DERO per day. Lol.

You are helpfull, thank

The revolutionary trading ecosystem
Super stoked for the upcoming update, and a huge kudos to the community mods for being extremly helpful and friendly - rarely have i experienced anything like this in crypto.
Me too, I can't wait for the Atlantis release! Seems like other people are excited too given the volumes on these little exchanges. I was going to sell some but now given the volume, forget about it Cheesy.

I’m wondering what those guys will do after they get rekt by Atlantis lmao

Pretty soon they are only going to have Bytecoin to mine, which is the granddaddy of all shitcoins!

They've already backed off their claim of 3 seconds

Not at all, we actually beat that by a significant amount and made it to 2 seconds. If you have a convincing reason for 2 second PoW blocks, please let us know and we will consider anything we missed.

If we had pushed 2 second blocks (and still can easily) people would be upset we didn't include those with lesser network infrastructure.

Again though, if you have a convincing reason, please let us know and we will consider it. The code will be available for your personal review and I look forward to discussing the technical details together!

DERO-Atlantis few features:
https://forum.dero.io/t/dero-monthly-update/446

It is said that the current PoW cann't prevent block withholding attack(Selfish mining).
DERO - Atlantis is upgrading existing existing block chain technology

Block time of ~3 seconds
500 TPS
No orphan blocks
ASIC resistant new algo,,,,,,

Stock price is very cheap though.

They've already backed off their claim of 3 seconds (under the pretense that they can do it they just don't see the need to do it right now).  I suspect they are having trouble meeting that goal and when Atlantis launches all references to "3 seconds" will mysteriously vanish.

As far as "no orphans" goes, we'll see, myself I'm highly skeptical.  Pretty sure that would be a first in cryptocurrency PoW systems.  If anyone knows of any other coin that can do this please chime in.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this - if not, please point me in the right direction.

At the time of writing this, it is now 43 hours since I sent 10 Dero, and the amount does still not appear on the exchange I sent it to. The blockchain explorer at https://explorer.dero.io/ says the transaction has 857 confirmations - and still counting. Does this sound right? Looking at more recent transactions, I see maximum 20 confirmations. When can I assume my transaction will be completely confirmed?

This is my first Dero transaction, and I'm quite disappointed about it.

This is always exchange software problem. It is common with many coins and depends on the exchange backend. Some exchanges can get overloaded if many new people join. But sending Deros across the network has always been very fast.
Thanks for chiming in. I contacted stocks.exchange support, and they're taking a look.

I just don't understand why it can be the recipient's problem, since transactions are approved by nodes in the network. Unless the exchanges' node is messing things up, so the transaction won't complete? Can anyone explain please?

If the transaction is on the blockchain then it HAS to be the recipient's problem.  They are simply not syncing their wallet to the blockchain or have some other back end issue.  The only other explanation is you sent it to some other address by mistake so you are looking in the wrong place.
