I successfully built it, but when trying to run desired in ubuntu it just hangs and doesnt want to run.
I also tried running desire-cli with a conf file, but it says server not found, no dice.

We suffered a DDOS attack. It have been solved. The stratums weren't affected and the pool's frontend is reachable again. Our protection is doing its job.

Looks like your entire pool crashed - at least the web front end did. I had just moved off and went to check when the next payment was scheduled and the whole site is down.
