I'm new, but still quite blur on how to setup a masternode. If I just want to setup on windows without using vps, are the instructions given on first post updated and complete enough to get it running?
Just follow the instruction on your windows wallet, then follow to run the Sentinel.

Is it possible to set up the masternode using dyndns service? Would like to do so at my home server. I have a 100 Mbit connection but the IP is not static. Is there any option to do so?

Just followed all the setps to get Masternode set-up my wallet is on my PC and MN running on VPS.
Do I need to keep my wallet open for MN to work successfully or just the VPS is enough and I can close the wallet?

I was wondering the same thing!
No, it is not needed to keep a wallet opened. You can turn off your computer, and you will get your earned coins from mn when wallet sync next time.

Do you receiving coins? If so, no need to fix that status. I have the same in my masternode (but on linux vps with windows cold wallet) and everything looks working for me.
Oh, I have setup mn for 5hours and don't receive any coin. May be I will wait, right bro?
You have to wait 16 - 24 hours for first payment. You MN said WATCHDOG_EXPIRED, it's okay man
