It sure has been a while, since we last posted, we were not even remotely ready to launch a layer-1 but here we are, as of Nov. 1st, 2022 - as you're reading this - it is officially live, and functioning well!
You can still participate in the ICO (regulated under MiCA, but doesn't require KYC at the moment due to being under the 5 million CHF limit).
There's also some confirmed top centralized exchange listings, all very exciting news.
The new website URL is: https://discreet.net and we managed (through trademarks) to get the handle @discreet on Twitter.
The testnet is incentivized and will pay out rewards to all participants, regardless of bug finds or not, but currently we're at block height 84282 for the testnet, and there has been no halts or critical errors yet, so we're more than thrilled about launching this layer-1, built from scratch. If you need a reminder about what the project is about:
- 64 mixin, extendable up to 256 anonymity for every transaction
- Mixed transactions (Monero to Bitcoin style addresses) to keep track of public charity donations, and ensure mover wide coverage with local crypto compliance laws around the world. These funds can of course be anonymized again by sending them back to a confidential address.
- Aurem, is what we have dubbed our novel consensus mechanism, it is fast, based on AlephBFT, but uses reserve proofs with a committee of weighted participants to quickly verify blocks, with instant finality and speeds of up to (if needed) 86'000 TPS.
- Discript: Our on-chain programming language which is based on the eUTXO model proposed by Cardano, however with a Circom (zk-snark) implementation to make sure inputs and signals are encrypted. This also has the added benefit of the chain not being bloated, since you only submit proof of the calculation to the blockchain, not the actual contract in itself.

I hope we get the chance to update this thread more, as this community has inspired so much of what has made Discreet a reality.
