Hi pool operators using NOMP!

What is your diamond.json? Something like this?

Code:
{
    "name": "Diamondcoin",
    "symbol": "DMD",
    "algorithm": "groestl",
    "txMessages": true
}

Thanks!

So, if I understand correctly, POS should start with block 400000, which will be today. Can anyone enlighten me on how exactly this will work?

I read something about 30 days, does that mean I have to have the wallet open for 30 days or just that I have to hold the coins for 30 days?

How will I get the coins I "mined" with POS? Will they just appear in my wallet or do I need to run the miner / something?

Thanks! Smiley

We are only about 40 blocks from block 400,000 when the PoS stage is supposed to start.  From reading the OP, you have to have had the coins in your wallet for a minimum of 30 days before PoS mining works.  Is that correct?

A pre-compiled Ubuntu 14.4 binary of sph-sgminer is available  for download here http://dmdpool.digsys.bg/download/sph-sgminer-ubuntu.zip

Please note that it may have dependencies for few libraries, that are not installed on your system. Just add them with apt-get install. Until it runs Smiley

The miner should be used with the '-k diamond' switch, to select the proper kernel for Diamond v2.0.

Happy mining.

I don't recommend using Ubuntu 14.4 for mining. It has several bugs and in certain occasions tends to crash the GPUs. I would recommend instead 12.04 LTS as it has been thoroughly used and tested throughout the mining community. Stay away from 12.10 as support ended in April.

Absolutely agree. I just wanted to mention that the binary was compiled on Ubuntu 14.4.

Yeap, I understood. Just letting the new comers know so that they don't rush to 14.4 just because they saw that the binary was compiled on 14.4 Smiley

BTW, been hashing nicely since yesterday on the pool. Good job.

If somebody wants to set up BAMT with this sgminer, follow my guide here: http://groestlcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=12.0

But after step 6, before step 7 do this:
Code:
git remote set-url origin git://github.com/danbi/sph-sgminer

And obviously change kernel from "groestlcoin" into "diamond" in your .conf file

Source code fixes to sph-sgminer published at https://github.com/danbi/sph-sgminer.

Hope to have it soon merged with the main branch. You can compile your own version. Let's hope someone does it for Windows users.

Hi!

I've set up a NOMP pool and compiled your miner in BAMT.

But when I run it, I'm getting only rejects with text like:

Code:
low difficulty share of 0.233/0.125.

Do I need to set some other difficulty muliplier?

Also, could somebody share a Windows binary?

Thanks

DiamondCoin has been added to AllCrypt.com!

That's a great exchange to get diamond listed on.

@danbi: the cashing out button is red and can't be clicked. theres more than 1 DMD still there that I'd like to withdraw.
is it currently not activated?

The previous Diamond wallet had block confirmation requirement of 60 blocks, so this was how the pool was set up. The new wallet requires 180 confirmations. The pool needs to obey this, as blocks with age under 180 can turn into orphans at any moment (although with this single pool hashing more than half of the network this is surely not possible right now).

So you need to wait 180 blocks for your earnings to mature and you can withdraw.

During the confirmation window switch, a nasty bug was discovered (will be addressed soon, patched for now) that resulted in about 10,000 blocks being unconfirmed and thus the pool refusing payouts. Even if this was for a short moment, you may have observed it. It is ok now.

Just a note: discovered that the pool confirmations were set at 60 blocks but the current wallet confirms blocks at 180 confirmations. So I decided to update it. The new setting sort of confused MPOS and it will take some time to clear up -- do not be surprised if large payout suddenly "does not work". It will.

EDIT: the pool has already passed 1 Ghash/s, wow! Do not worry, the server is barely noticing the load.

Yeah, I figured that's what happened when I saw a good part of my confirmed balance go unconfirmed.  Cheesy

The web interface is working perfectly now. Everything's refreshing correctly, the dashboard is streaming, and the three little beeps with each new block found are even coming through loud and clear!

Currently about 2/3 the network hashrate though - so if there's any 51% attack, just remember, we know where you live.  Grin

did you made changes in stratum code or only in miner ?

I gave up on ahmed's stratum-mining, which I was using previously and switched to NOMP. When used in MPOS compatible mode, it functions just as stratum server and includes support for groestl. I did a lot of modifications there, in attempts to make stratum mining work, but, at the end it turned out it does not need any changes.

The pushpool server however had to be modified in order to include support for groestl. I will try to find some time to publish the modifications, although they are trivial.
