In only about 2 weeks of mining, our cherry picker managed to grab ~11.7% of the entire supply of mined coins. Not bad! He is still holding onto about 93% (or more) of those coins. Hopefully he won't be able to cause a lot of mischief with those coins, but I guess we will have to see what he does next.

The last mined block, 86400, had a reward of 285102 ECC and went here: http://explorer.eccoin.cc/address/EN4czNvs6E9P2XrLymKfyH4T9iCvA4BEAM. "I'm sorry, this address has too many records to display." Um, OK... That's not the cherry picker, though. His last block was 86398. Anyway, grats to whoever found 86400.

No you aren't! You may have a miner running but it's not doing anything. Every block after ECCoin 86400 has been a PoS block, not a PoW block. They weren't mined!

Does anyone have a handle on whether or not people already mining at Hashcows might be semi-interested in ECC. If those people would start accumulating ECC as long as it were convenient, then that would be a good reason for wanting ECC to be added there.

Well, that was fast! If there is interest by the community here, the bounty amount won't matter much. The main reason I suggested the lower amount is because this way we can speed things up by a couple of days, or more in case there is enough interest. I'm quite positive that there will be interest because every one here wants this coin to have a bright future. I'm sure we will have the communities answer soon enough!:) Thank you for your interest in ECC. I would personally love to see it listed there. Let's see!

I'm flexible on this bounty, and generally an easy going guy   The main thing I like to see is community interest and support for the idea, so I'm not wasting my time.  As you say, any hashrate gained helps my pool as well, which is why the bounty is setup in a way that I give it all away if the hashrate increase warrants it.  I'm fine with 8,500,000 ftr, not sure what the current number is at.  

True, but if they are choosing to get paid out in ecc, they are most likely holders. No sense in not getting btc if they intend to sell right away, cause the multipool will buy at a higher price than the holder can sell for.

Well, yes, but what really matters is if the miners hold onto it. If the multipool buys ECC, but the miners immediately sell it, that will do no good. Or if they would have bought the ECC anyway (my case), it will still do no good. What would really make the price go up is if people will collect and keep more ECC because it's more convenient because the multipool buys it for them. I don't have a handle on that aspect.

How about 8.500.000 ECCs as the bounty amount? I remember that when Faircoin was discussing how much they needed to collect in order to be added there, the bounty was the equivelant amount of FACs as 0.5btc. ECC price has been stable for days at 6-7sat while it was being pushed down by multipool dumbs. Yes, I agree that a big multipool will help ECC to become more known, but you shouldn't forget that all these coins with the growing communities are helping your pool as well, when people choose to mine with you. Let's help each other to become more widely known.

It means that ecc gets bought by the multipool which increases buys and in theory will raise the price.

You won't be able to mine it anyway. That ends in an hour or so. You will just be able to take payout in ECC.

I personally would probably prefer to enter my own trades, so it probably wouldn't encourage me to do anything differently. I don't know if it would affect anyone else.

If enough people donate 1% of their total coins this 10 million will get taken care of fast. Those of us that are holding need to consider how eccoin may be negatively affected if we do not have a way to mine it. As it stands right now there may be a two week wait for the main eccoin multipool. I personally would not like to see a gap in our ability to mine eccoin. The price may drop much more than that 1% was worth. Whose with me?

Thanks for explaining. I had a feeling at first that the money was to pay for some sort of software development, but Hostmaster didn't say so, so I decided it must not be for that after all.

And I have a feeling that rather than giving us more variety wrt multipools, the idea is for this to be the only choice, at least at first. ECC could probably be added to Hashcows quicker than the other one can be finished.

* we allow payout of mined coins for any alt we mine (ie: if we mine DGC for 30 min, you can take the DGC or have it auto-traded, this decision can be made coin-by-coin)
* we hop on new coin launches at the start. This has led to massive profit leads by getting in early on coins like; BC, EFL, NLG, ISR, WC, AC (combined with the above feature of you being able to keep the coin if you so choose, big profits all around).
* if we add ecc you can of course get ECC direct for all your mining efforts, automatically, every day at pre-defined time.
* the pool has been around more than 6 months, is generally top 3 (http://poolpicker.eu), and I've been running pools over a year now.  No beta phases, no payout bugs, just proven systems already in place for quite some time

We essentially have the benefits of multipool.us (you can keep the alt if you want it), clever/waffle/middlecoin et al (you can auto-trade it all to btc), ipominer (we hit coin launches early to maximize returns), and unique thus far more or less (many options to be paid out in, instead of just BTC).

Also of note:

* ECC being on a pool like hashcows exposes the coin to a wider community, and miners who may not have already been familiar with it


The fundraising/bounty is for implementing ECC.  If the community attracts enough hashrate we'll happily pay it back out in the form of rewards (or some other ideas if you have them) to attract more interest.
