So you're practically selling your portion of ETH at 33% discount rate, while believing ETH is amazing technology. What is your benefit here?
It is only a 33% discount in USD$ because of the exchange rate, not in BTC terms.

So the client is a blackCoin fork, correct? Does the client show what the current block height is?
Open the debug console, and type getinfo
You can also just check the block explorer.
