ok, experiment done, i mined with 165mh/s for 24 hours on suprnova. i got roughly 5 etc. so for me it's less profitable than eth??

Yes, at the moment ETH is more profitable than ETC for mining.

@ocminer: can you open an ETH pool again ? I'd like to switch between the both to mine which is more profitable

Try expanse now, I've got that listed too and just added stratum.

ETH? Hmm..  Unlikely, as I don't agree with the fork etc

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this but. Just curious if ETC will also be going to POS like ETH.
Just wanting to know since I'm a new miner thinking on investing in GPU miners.

I think POS will require a hardfork, so there's your answer.
Edit, and why POS anyway. Ethereum is NOT a coin. It's a framework to build applications that may or may not generate a profit. A switch to POS would only benefit the large holders.

POW would require a hardfork too. There is a difficulty bomb so even if ETC wants to stay POW the diff bomb needs to be removed.

https://blog.ethereum.org/2015/08/04/ethereum-protocol-update-1/

ETH is unlikely to have a working POS algorithm before the bomb blows up so it may need to fork twice (to remove the bomb and then to implement POS later).

Honestly it is a little late to make investments in GPU's strictly for mining at this point with the current coins being mined.  ETH and ETC difficulty and reward are shrinking very quickly...  When I say quickly I mean like 30%+ a month decrease in profit.  I know there are other coins to be mined that are profitable today, but I think what will happen is most existing miners will move to those coins which just don't have the infrastructure or network to handle the flood of miners as the flee ETH and ETC mining.  So those networks and profits will collapse pretty quickly.  We have already witnessed this when Claymore offered the dual miner and the second coin he was dual mining basically the flood of mining collapsed the prices in decred and now we are watching similar start to take place with SIA.

So my advise to you would be to possibly look at something like the S9 or even an A4 ASIC miner(when it is finally released to the public).  You would probably have a better shot of getting your ROI in a reasonable amount of time with one or more of those rigs than you will with GPU's.  And you would have a chance that those rigs will remain viable at least into next year from the looks of things.  At the moment it looks like we might be good to mine GPU's for another month or two before most of us will be moving or shutting down the GPU rigs as the profits after electricity are vanishing.

Not trying to be negative, just trying to set a realistic expectation before you sink money into rigs you should know all you can about what is happening.

Is it possible to make a contract on ETC. I would like to make real options like PUTS and CALLS for ETC.

I don't see wallet ethereum classic for android, the developer of ethereum classic should make the app. It will become more famous and The price will going up. If the developer are serious  Roll Eyes
if... i think it's a scam
It is too fast if we call it scam coin because it is still fluctuating and still not there are updating from developer of coin. We must wait and see. And then we can make opinion.

Yes, at the moment ETH is more profitable than ETC for mining.

Things have changed a lot today.

Neither ETH, ETC or nicehash is the most profitable ethash now.

EXPanse +36.2%

So now it is: (pr 100Mh/s/day)

EXP      14$
Nicehash    11,4$
ETH      9.94$
ETC      8,62$
Shift      4,47$

ok, so is minergate the best one to be on as it switches to the profitable coin? i just moved to nano to give that a try

Just followed this thread and pretty surprised to see that I didn't know about this coin for this long. I'd definitely mine this coin instead of ETH with my GPU's and will support this coin in all ways. I'm guessing that this coin will get a bump in value once ethereum turns PoS.
