Since it's changed a lot can someone please give the current ETH emission rates? How much exists, how much will exist, is there a current limit, etc. It has been confusing to understand. I'd appreciate it if someone would break it down for me. Thank you.

Yes, it has changed a lot. At the beginning, the supply was supposed to be limitless but then devs have decided for a hard cap with the introduction of POS. There will be at the end between 90 and 100 million with a very, very small yearly inflation of about 1%, if I am not mistaking about the inflation part.

Links are online, mostly on Ethereum blog. I don't have time at the moment to dig through and post the links. Maybe somebody will do this instead of me!

Thanks. How many ETH currently exist approximately?

price will stabilize who knows is waiting for 50-100 dollars, after taking profits is the only thing to expect.
is my only viable point of view on ETH.

I never hold altcoins even for medium-term. I only go in when I see the pump and jump out when I see the start of dumping. I think it's late for Ether but maybe speculators think different. I'm watching from far away right now.

people like you are the reason for the rollercoasters...

They started dumping Ethereum. Is it the end of pump? We haven't seen a big dump yet but price is declining slowly. %6 loss for last 24 hours. I think it's too late to jump in the ship.

I think a good time to get in is if it falls in the 550-590k range.  Also, it depends if you are day trader or holder?

How do I backup my wallet on this Windows version of Mist?
BTW is it the MANIFEST file that I make a copy of and save?

keystore folder and NEVER LOSE YOUR PASSWORD.

C:\Users\johndoe\AppData\Roaming\Ethereum

Thanks!

I have another question for you and the Ethereum community.

Once I have send some ETH from bittrex to the Mist wallet should I send the Ethereum that is in my "Accounts wallet" to my "Contract Based Wallet"?

You can do it, but your coins will be safe as well if you just leave them in your account. Somebody correct me if I am wrong though.

I have moved them to a contract based wallet.

Word of advice here, if you do move them to a contract based wallet, some exchanges don't allow direct transfers from contract wallet. I had a deposit stuck with Kraken by sending the coins directly from the contract wallet. You need to move them first to your account and then send them out further.
Thanks for the Word of advice!  This has saved me from all kinds of stress.  This should be a highlighted topic!  As the community grows more individuals will come across this issue.  The last thing we would want is for people to use this to fud Ethereum.

I should have waited until today when it hit 5 before jumping in, think I got a bit carried away yesterday and joined at 7 but think in the long term it should be okay, not expecting to get rich tomorrow on this one.

don't get discouraged....stack and hold bud.  if you can, buy when the candle dips red.  think long term..and when i say long term..i'm not even thinking that long...2016

I agree, Ethereum is great and all, but it'll never succeed unless Vitalik starts eating more.

I know.

Hey all, I am new to Ethereum.

Anyone got some advice for mining? I have tried using my 860M (nvidia) to mine using geth and ethminer, blockchain is synced, dag is created, but my display driver keeps crashing and recovering every time I try to start the mining, thus giving me 0 hashes. So far I have not found any solutions online. I have tried using the "standard" opencl ethminer and also the cuda version. My graphics card drivers are up-to-date.

Don't mine with a laptop.

Wow, that is the most helpful advice ever. I have mined many other coins with a laptop, works like a charm. I need to monitor heat levels and use a cooler pad of course, to avoid a meltdown.

If anyone is familiar with that particular issue with the display driver versus ethminer, please help.

You're welcome. Your problem might be related to eth mining memory requirements. Post a question here: http://forum.ethereum.org/

Yes i agree soon we will test again 700 Smiley

There are many sellers around this level. The miners can make a good profit out of it. They are selling fast to take some profit.

So, my guess, the bears are now so shed a lot, up to 660 bought, they basically merged and again, but it is only their loss at 700, and then not all probably. That is, forces them to pour a bit below 500. The bulls have not given pass below 500-470. Now the level of 550-600 try to keep, the rebound was quick and the purchase of low maximum level. The decline from 660 again happened because of the Kraken, where as usually occurs in waves, and because of the uncertainty of traders during trading is disabled. Yesterday, or rather today, when you bounce from 500 to 550 it started a real purchase, that is, the same bears immediately. Accurately predict but now it is very difficult. Presumably up again after consolidation at 550-600.

But yes - It'll probably go up further soon.. Wink

be carefully, price down to fibo 50% then up 61.2% and close above 61.2%(4-h). can be retest 700k, but then 0.004

Do you think the Ethereum will rise against bitcoin in long term? Will it be 0.1 bitcoin one day in the future?
