monero had physical minted coins before their gui wallet came out as well.  minting coins is a pretty big fad around here.

I stand corrected.  The Second crypto with a physical coin before a GUI wallet.  Smiley

Without doubt the most exciting project in crypto today. A platform, not a coin. Here's to Alan Turing and Satoshi and Vitalik. We stride in your steps.

The only limit to ETH is our imaginations.

Oh, child_harold who betrayed tons of coins is now friend of ETH?   Grin

This could possibly be the first crypto to have a physical coin before a GUI wallet.  Smiley

I don't think Monero had a gui wallet at the beginning.

sigh.

There were some doubts concerning the new ethereum wallet web app, because the source code was not released yet.
Therefore I would like to announce that the source code for https://ethereumwallet.org has been
released on github: https://github.com/Ethereumwallet/online-wallet-hd

I'm sold with Ethereum, such an exciting project. I hope it gets more attention.

EDIT: TheFiendisOne, you have an entirely wrong notion about eth tokens. They are not altcoins on top of ethereum.

Ethereum is not a crypto currency coin but a open source software platform.

Ethereum is somewhat comparable with "Red Hat Linux" on blockchain tech. Yeh you may can build on it but open source software is not an investment to expect financial return.  On ethical grounds, Yeh sure. As soon as the flood of copys with improved modified code hits the marked the bagholders of this unlimited platform start crying.

On top of it a CEO with a track-record of 5 started and failed companies is not the most convincing argument for a sound investment.

EDIT: TheFiendisOne, you have an entirely wrong notion about eth tokens. They are not altcoins on top of ethereum.

You know what, you're probably right.  I haven't had the time to fully read everything, but if that's the case then some of the basic text on the website is misleading and confusing.

"(4) Design and issue your own cryptocurrency"

if Eth tokens are not altcoins on top of ethereum, but I can design and issue my own cryptocurrency, what exactly am I issuing?  Eth-TheFiendishOne-Tokens?

The last time I checked, a cryptocurrency that is not Bitcoin is known as an Altcoin.  I could be wrong though.  (I am not trying to be an ass, just trying to use logic here).

So I then want to assume that ETH tokens will have zero value outside of the Ethereum network, and Mookid-Eth-Tokens could be more valuable than Eth-TheFiendishOne-Token?

It sounds like a coupon book.  I'll have to do some more reading, too.

**EDIT**

My question for supporters and devs is, where does this leave bitcoin in your eyes?  Is there a future for Bitcoin with ETH or is ETH the new flavor of the year?

Under the topic summary for this post I briefly read about a project named Tau-Chain that is directly competing against ETH, so already we have a similar AltCoin in the works.  It is my understanding that ETH is both an altcoin and a development tool.  Where does it leave Bitcoin because from what I read I might as well delete my bitcoin wallet now.  (Not serious when I say this)
