Whales need not any reason to push the price upwards. If you look at previous rise and then decline in prices of Ethereum or any other market you can't figure out any specific reason neither for up nor for downwards move. All these are just phenomena that this will increase price or that does, in fact big players decide what and when to come those.
If Vitalik believes in POS as ultimate solution then let him implement and let the market and results to decide what are the consequences. General opinion is against that but let's see who knows may be this works as he thinks. That experiment will have good lessons for others to understand many things through it. If POS doesn't work it will need to be reversed vi another HF, probably.

That is not a valid reason from my point of view it is hard predict what function will make it again more hot like before. This coin still has good demand with bigger community which growing much faster than before so that I hope this year will bring more attention and make it more valuable.

Many will lose alot of coins, while others will gain alot.
in my point of view this is not a start of the bull run its just temporary pump and now again market is falling
but bullish move can happen at anytime in 2019.
if ETF approves in Q1 2019 then big bullish move can happen in crypto market.
For Ethereum there will be a very positive January, most likely a very serious upward jump in prices for Ethereum. We have been waiting for this for a long time.

The threat to them is always eliminated at the root and by any means. If bitcoin is a threat to banks, that banks will be eliminated, not bitcoin. If the ether becomes a threat to bitcoin and fuel companies, they will close the ether
Why would ether become a threat to bitcoin? I believe they can definitely co-exist. No reason that's not possible.
For many digital assets are still very new it reminds of cellphones where only some used it and other thought its a waste of money to buy and those cellphones were only basic phones and now we see even a homeless person would surely have and know how to use a cellphone this time span roughly took around 20 years and we are talking about mass adoption now everyone has one phone with them.. and guess what crypto users are only in few millions out of those billions in this world unaware or unknown about the existence of such space.
Well I don't believe that there will be a ton of digital assets working as a store of value. It may be a good number though. Most will probably work as a medium of exchange in high throughput situations.
Ethereum will have second place, it’s 100%, XRP is a bank coin, and very large money will be invested in XRP. The competition between the two titans will be very tense.
Flippening between Ethereum and XRP will happen when Ethereum hit 0.04 BTC per ETH or higher.I guess the flippening will occur soon.
Hope so in the beginning of 2019 price of eth will start growing, as you said ethereum will overtake XRP very soon.
Right now price is very low so best time to buy at this cheap price. BTW HaPPy New YeaR.

Flippening between Ethereum and XRP will happen when Ethereum hit 0.04 BTC per ETH or higher.I guess the flippening will occur soon.
Like Joseph Lublin of eth recently stated the future is bright (he also stated the bottom is in)
I would believe that we already have bottomed out, the Ethereum 2.0 is interesting, it will bring new hope for people who until now is supporting ETH. Trust in Vitalik and his team, we are here to seek for success and their update for me is just so timely because bear is gonna be gone very soon, next year is different, we are going to witness bull run after bull run.
It is worthy to see how Bitcoin Cash team can do it and how the platform of Bitcoin Cash can be competitive with ETH platform.

Without PoW is not good, BCH and ETC will more interesting. BCH very easy to scale - just increasing the block size and there is no risk of vulnerabilities at this

Nobody mentioning how solid this time ETH moving I think now it will get recover more support and in next few months we will see on more high price. If someone invested in this coin just 2 weeks ago than than he is in very safe position and I hope this will keep with this momentum.

Yes, even though they will develop what they mentioned in the roadmap will not help to cross the value of ETH because ETH is already established which has more active developments from the team. Even though ripple has increase volume but it will cross the ETH position in long-term.

Ethereum is in preparation to make huge come back after the upcoming hard fork probably. I wonder how BCH guys promoting tokens creation thing on that chain with other words they are entering in competition with Ethereum. How Vitalik supported these guys for their contagious HF. Anyway there is nothing to worry Ethereum is much more than simply platform of tokes creation and this its competitors need to understand.
I do hope it that way, but for now, it is more like a platform for token creation. We can not deny that, let's be honest here.
