Ethereum Validator Entry Queue Signals Renewed Interest in Staking
"The validator entry queue has jumped to 7,045, the highest since Oct. 6, according to data source ValidatorQueue.
The waitlist for new Ethereum validators is now the longest since early October.
The renewed interest in staking is noteworthy as the yield on staked ether remains below 4%."

Introducing the EPF Study Group

The Ethereum Protocol Fellowship (EPF) is a program designed to reduce the barrier to entry for developers interested in working on the core protocol. As core developer (and EPF creator) Piper Merriam likes to say, the door is comically wide open. EPF helps you walk through it.

"54% of ERC-20 Tokens Listed on DEXes in 2023 Display Patterns That May Be Suggestive of Pump and Dump Schemes, but Represent just 1.3% of DEX Trading Volume

For most of the research that we publish in our annual Crypto Crime Report, the data tells a clear story. For instance, funds sent to ransomware operators, darknet markets, or sanctioned entities can be measured and trends can be analyzed with Chainalysis labeling and data. But blockchain data can also be used to detect suspicious trading patterns. In these cases, the evidence on the blockchain is less definitive. Instead, on-chain data can provide a starting point for deeper investigations, usually combined with other, off-chain information. For this reason, we do not include possible market manipulation proceeds or estimates of victim losses in our count of total illicit transaction volume — there isn’t enough information to determine whether the activity is criminal or not without additional context. ‘ETH Should be Beyond Money,’ Buterin Proposes Cypherpunk Vision
"Vitalik Buterin advocates for a broader vision for ETH beyond finance.
Buterin explores democratic governance, privacy solutions, and global inclusion.
He urged developers to consider regions like Argentina and Turkey for tackling financial disparities.
Ethereum Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin is stirring up big ideas for Ethereum, arguing that the ecosystem should not just be about money. According to him, it should be about creating a new way for online interactions freed of controls from big companies in Silicon Valley.

This visionary manifesto came in a recent publication, “The End of My Childhood,” citing snippets from earlier commentary on “Make Ethereum Cypherpunk Again.”"

Bug That Took Down 8% of Ethereum's Validators Sparks Worries About Even Bigger Outage
"Ethereum just had one of those moments where the big story is what didn't go wrong.
A bug in Ethereum's Nethermind client software – used by validators of the blockchain to interact with the network – knocked out a chunk of the chain's key operators on Sunday.
It was a manageable incident, but the episode revived a long-simmering debate in the Ethereum ecosystem around the need for "client diversity." Some experts took the opportunity to point out how bad things could have been if another client software, Geth, the chain's most popular execution client, had gone out; the question is whether Ethereum could have kept going since Geth stands out as a possible single point of failure for the network."

Mercedes-Benz is also overhauling its navigation and in-car entertainment (ICE) systems. The latter will incorporate an in-car music experience, MBUX Sound Drive, developed by recording artist Will.i.am that enables music to "react to the way the acr is being driven."

A new MBUX Collectibles in-car app enables drivers to showcase their non-fungible token (NFT) collection on the vehicle's dashboard, including the brand's own NXT NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. The firm made headlines last year when its NXT Icons NFT collection drop caused its website to crash."

The policy when working with regulators in the Ethereum ecosystem should suit everyone. White and black lists, blocking in smart contracts and a large number of level 2 solutions and even level 3 solutions will make Ethereum the main coin in the future.
This ecosystem has all the famous stablecoins and huge trading volumes.

I'm on the fence about that.  Sure, getting buddy-buddy with the regulators could help Ethereum become top dog one day by making it seem more legit.  But it could also backfire.  The regulators might force Ethereum to add a bunch of red tape that makes it harder for developers to create new apps.  Or worse, they could just ban certain kinds of transactions, which would be a punch in the guts.

So it's hard to say if getting regulators on board is worth the risk and  ethereum has done pretty well so far just doing its own thing without worrying what the higher-ups think.  Then again having the big bad government's blessing could convince more people to jump on the Ethereum train.  At the end of the day its hard to predict how it would all shake out.

Politics have not worked in the crypto world for a long time.
Modern smart contracts have built-in blocking and backup functions, which are enough to solve many problems. And adding a list of several hundred prohibited wallets to the code is not a problem.

Hi, and omg,

Good time in 2013, when I buy a pre-sale wallet, full of expectations. And now, in poor life. It's okay, simplicity shows me my strong structure way.
However, Ethereum isn't yet alive by that time. Are you talking about that you've made an investment and bought Ethereum or do you want to just share your experience before? If that's the case, I think that you've posted it on the wrong thread. Anyway, life teaches us a lot of lessons so be better on what you do now.

Bitcoin has taken that major step forward with ETF approval therefore it is logical to accept others will be approved too. Ethereum is extremely centralised, everything you do with trading, NFTs to tokens and anything in between can be analysed with ease therefore it will appeal to the SEC. I think it will be approved in May (otherwise sometime before the end of the year).

Eric Balchunas' prediction of a 70% chance of the SEC approving an Ethereum spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) in May has sparked significant interest and speculation within the cryptocurrency and investment communities.

I was just asking this and have it on the other thread. So there have been bunch of ETH spot ETF applications already, I think that we're going to see the same vibe on how BTC's was approved.

That makes sense while there are a lot of competitors or let's say these competitors were also once part of the Ethereum ecosystem.
It's still the most sought-after network for smart contracts and most of the projects. It's also moving forward if many or even some of these eth etf spot applications will be approved soon.

While ETH is pumping, this thread should be flocked by most of those that are happy seeing it go up. But it seems that there's not that much on this thread but good to see that zasad is keeping up and have been an active contributor to this thread. Keep it up, mate.

"Eric Balchunas has predicted a 70% chance of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approving an Ethereum spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) in May. The SEC has multiple Ethereum spot ETF applications to review by the end of May, including those from VanEck, Ark 21Shares, and Hashdex. While digital asset lawyer Joe Carlasare believes an Ethereum spot ETF will be approved this year, he cautions that the approval process may take longer than some investors expect. As the cryptocurrency industry continues to mature and gain regulatory acceptance, the approval of Ethereum spot ETFs could potentially open up new investment opportunities for institutional Investors."

Ethereum has a good chance. The reason is in this post:

Donald Trump Sells 1,075 Ethereum Generated from NFT Collections: Arkham Intelligence
https://www.economywatch.com/news/donald-trump-sells-1075-ethereum-generated-from-nft-collections-arkham-intelligence
"Former U.S. President Donald Trump has sold 1,075 ETH, amounting to $2.4 million, from his non-fungible token (NFT) mugshot collections, according to Arkram Intelligence.

Trump’s NFT Cashout on Frenzy
In a recent development, an Ethereum wallet associated with former U.S. President Donald Trump has attracted attention for its substantial cryptocurrency activity, particularly in the sale of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to a December 27 post by the leading blockchain intelligence firm Arkham on X, there has been a noteworthy change in Trump’s cryptocurrency portfolio over the last three weeks, involving the liquidation of approximately $2.4 million worth of ETH."

Does Trump need a couple of million, or does he know that the market will turn around soon? In my opinion option 2 is correct Smiley
