BTC will launch rootstock smart contracts soon. They are testing it ATM. Yes, I am an insider. I am not allowed to say anything more about this. But whats the main advantage about Ethereum when BTC has their tech? BTC is more safe also, has a limited supply and is easier to scale then Ethereum. Only the fees and confirmationtime ATM is quite bad because btc isnt scaled yet. Ehereum will never see the second place at coinmarketcap again. Its also in a bubble rightnow because of ICO launches. I expect all ethereum pullback very soon. I hate XRP, but they are backed by banks who want to pump&dump it to steal money from the noobs.

as far as i know eth is backed by banks too there is a banker as a fundation member Patrick Karl Storchenegger you dont find him on the ethereum page but if you check the list of registed board memebers of the foundation you find his name ........

I'd be careful with ETH to be honest, Tezos is going to attract some big names and several Eth dapp developers plan to offer similar product on Tezos, it's going to eat some marketcap short term. Long term I have no idea what the effect with be.

I also think ETC has no future only ETH is genuine and original platform for decentralized dapps. I am holding my ETH and not interested in classic version which is totally useless.

Nice article read on cointelegraph about Ethereum and the possibilities for it. It was mentioned as second Bitcoin in the market. By the way nice to see it has overcome the market valuation of Dash finally. It was due to solid price floor and back by strong and powerful community and of course use cases too. Ethereum is being used widely for ICO's and smart contract will be adapted more widely in coming months to drive the value more higher.

Guys, even though Bitcoin maximalists say that smart contracts are crap, now they are wetting their pants because they are getting a federated (= trusted) merge mined side chain with a copy paste of the Ethereum virtual machine.

This is the pinnacle of Bitcoin development.

I'm trying the same right now, and at the moment it is so damn slow....
I see increasing the last digits of the block counter in seconds interval...
Any tips for how to get synced faster?

Anyone want to guess how long this is going to take to fully sync? It's been going for a couple hours now. Hope this mist update is better than geth.
