Basically, if you purposely and maliciously try to double spend or attack the network, or other such things, your staked reward (once Casper is released) is penalized. It's a PoS implementation which safeguards against a lot of the shortcomings of today's PoS implementations. It helps protect the network and make it more secure than even PoW can (arguably).

Bitpop is a greedy guy, he wants ETH pump so his worthless ETC will be pumping too. I think his behavior makes every ETH fan sick.
