Since the latst 3 updates (at least) , my wallet takes forever to sync .Disk usage is ridiculously high and the computer slows down
I have ubuntu 14.04 running on I5 with 8gb of memory and 300G of disk . I tried with another disk same problem

And now with 0.8.6 it cannot sync

It's  stucked there

( i have restarted from scratch    geth removedb and after geth --cache 1048 --fast )

Any help

Thanks

There will be again fork?

Fork after fork after fork after fork... Welcome to the Beginning.

Surely you realize, ETC is forking also.  The hypocrisy of the ETC community...  In fact, ETC isn't even forking on time.  The ETC network gets to enjoy slow transactions and dos attacks for nearly another week before you guys incorporate the updated changes.

I know you are mentally retarded so let me explain it to you again in simple terms.

ETC community forked to oppose the DAO bailout. ETC have no problem with forking for protocol upgrades. If ETH would have hardforked without bailing the DAO investors (mainly ETH foundation) then there would be no ETC. The bailout sets a dangerous precedent which ETC community cannot tolerate.

I'm a software engineer working in molecular diagnostics, so don't try the internet bully shit and start your replies sounding like an angry teen.

While I don't agree with the mentality that created ETC, I already understand all of that. I was specifically replying to what becoin said.  He's here in ETH thread and spouting nonsense, and is a known ETC fan boy.  Maybe instead of climbing on your high horse, take a look at the context and message first. Maybe talk with others in your community who are apparently against a blockchain that does fork whenever the majority agree to (e.g. becoin). Cheesy Grin

Hello.

Could anyone help us with new ETH node? We can't synchronize it, take a look at this error:
E1019 18:53:16.749338 core/blockchain.go:1170] Bad block #2467695 (0xad70a7a8cbad9460bcc3b0f43b82e11f9ef60e3ae6de1194b5d2906b303d0f5e)
E1019 18:53:16.749353 core/blockchain.go:1171]     gas used error (106646 / 103796)

What do we have to do in this case?

Try the problem page on this site:

There will be again fork?

Fork after fork after fork after fork... Welcome to the Beginning.

You are aware, that now that this type of network attack can't happen on Ethereum, it going to be recycled by those people who created it onto clone-coins.

Please subscribe to his Ethereum youtube channel, it is getting a bit tedious for me to post a link for each of his youtube clips Grin

As, Mr Yukon C will explain, major improvement already visible on the network.

He'll, also, explain the next forks major improvement effects Grin

Upcoming Ethereum Hard Fork:

What happens if I do not participate in the hard fork?

If you are using an Ethereum client that is not updated for the upcoming hard fork, your client will sync to the pre-fork blockchain once the fork occurs. You will be stuck on an incompatible chain following the old rules and you will be unable to send ether or operate on the post-fork Ethereum network.
What is a hard fork in Ethereum-land?

A hard fork is a change to the underlying Ethereum protocol, creating new rules to improve the system. All Ethereum clients need to upgrade; otherwise they will be stuck on an incompatible chain following the old rules. The decentralized nature of blockchain systems makes a hard fork upgrade more difficult. Hard forks in a blockchain require cooperation and communication with the community, as well as with the developers of the various Ethereum clients in order for the transition to go smoothly.
What happens during a hard fork?

After consensus is reached on what changes should be included in a hard fork, changes to the protocol are written into the various Ethereum clients, such as geth, Parity, and ethereumJ. The protocol changes are activated at a specific block number. Any nodes that have not been upgraded to the new ruleset will be abandoned on the old chain where the previous rules continue to exist.
